4 weeks to prepare for the Championship..........

Many teams already in the Championship know they'll be in that league next season and teams like Bournemouth are already up and can start planning. The Premiership does not finish until 19th May and the Championship starts on 3 August. Pre season is always 6 weeks before the first game of the season which is mid June. That gives the board roughly 4 weeks after the Liverpool game and when the players get back for pre season to try and re group and find some kind of solution to the almighty mess we find ourselves in. Let's not kid ourselves. The Championship is such a slog of a league and you have to be mentally right for it. I fear a real relegation hangover with this club next season. We start badly and we could really struggle big time. The year we came up Warnock had already signed players like Mackie, Derry, Kenny and Hill etc. before pre season started. That ensured they and the rest of the squad had a solid pre season to get fit and ready for the start of the season. We then went 19 games unbeaten. That set the foundations for getting us promoted. We will have no idea which players will be with us for next season. You will have players haggling over contracts, trying to find new clubs, some players ****ed off with other players, certain players on more money than others etc. that finding some harmony within the playing staff is going to be a really big struggle in the summer. We need a core group of players that will be ready to start pre season in mid June and get fit and ready for the Championship. We can't have players coming and going midway through the pre season. Just does not bode well for when the season starts. Even players like Hill and Derry will need to go. They are shot to pieces. The playing staff needs some big changes. Finding clubs for some of our players is going to be very difficult. Many will not want to leave because of the contracts that they're on and many of them will just not fancy the slog of the Championship. We are in a very difficult situation. Philip Beard will not know what's hit him this summer.

I really fear for this club. A struggle in the Championship with the kind of players that we have could have a very bad long term effect on this club. It's going to be a very painful few months for us.

If the manager can identify 3-4 players up for what you rightly say is a slog in the championship, we may turn things around sharply. The big question is, can we identify the new Derry, Hill and Kenny's

Derry signed a new contract in Jan did he not so guessing he will have a part to play. Need to identify a few roll your sleeves up players who also have a bit of ability about them and heart

Some decent teams unlike last year

Hammersmith has it spot on. The key is replacing the players we will get a fee for. Remy will go, as will Samba, Zamora and probably Mackie. £20m there that we need to spend half on 2 CB's (Dann from Blackburn anyone?) and a striker like Jordan Rhodes.

Get Faurlin back and look for a new young hungry grafter for the middle of the pitch. Onouha and Traore will be good enough full backs and both work a bit. Harry should be blowing smoke up Green's back side as our new number 1. Jenas, Derry, Hill, Hoilett, Taarabt (no one will buy him), SWP, Mbia and Diakite will all be important over a 46 game season.

Getting rid of players like Bosingwa, Park, Cisse, AJ is important as despite the quality they could add at Championship level they won't have the desire or bottle and their earnings will **** off the new and current players!
