  • Agree Silver, also TF as chairman of a football club had/has an easy ride, as a club we have been s*** for years with owners that haven't warmed to much of the fanbase.
TF had a clean canvass and a full mandate, even if he had said early in his tenure I'm limiting salaries to £40k p/w for our top players and we are only buying young players, I think the fanbase on the whole would have been supportive even if we were threatened to go down as long as we knew the club was financially secure, heading in the right direction and he was in it for the long run.
Very few new chairman have been given as an easy ride as he has even yesterday supportive chants to his name and we were going down, contrast this to the boos echoing round LR when the championship trophy was being paraded after the Leeds game.
We are a shambles at the moment and needs to cut out pointless middlemen, him, AB and HR have to drive us forward together and take control.
What did make me laugh was yesterday at half time after the sprinklers came on, lucozade sport was strategically placed at the side of the pitch on ER, I was just thinking our lot haven't moved so hardly need energy and the classic 4 year plan scene where BE starts complaining about the cost and waste of Lucozade, just made me think old Bernie and Orange one did have a point. Chairman needs to be hard and that's what modern day footballers deserve otherwise they take the p***, like our lot yesterday.

      • TF made a go of it and all people do is #### him off. He forked out a fortune bringing players. He brought in two high profile managers and relied on their football knowledge and scouts. Tony is much a football man as 99% of people on here. he relied on his managers to chose who they wanted not Tony. Tony wrote the cheque. Tony flew all over the place on January to bring in a couple of well known players and people still #### him off.

        • If we had limited wages to 40,000 pw and we were in this position we are now, we would have posters (prob the same ones as now) slagging TF off for not spending a bit bigger, and just pushing the wages a bit higher so we could have signed so and so.....the problem is we are relegated and that is the sole reason we're getting these ridiculous posts calling for him to go, ...man up and take it on the chin, stop blaming people that don't deserve it

I just don't get it Ninj do you? I know TF has agreed these wages and i don't think he's hiding from that, so he is/was quite happy to pay them and only in the last couple of days he has pointed out players will leave for the right offer, and not before. Now i'm not stupid, the right offer might be a free transfer if it gets 60k off the wages i know that, but i think he knows this side of football, its all numbers its business i think we'll be ok.
But posters on here are panicking and running around like headless chickens on what might or could happen

Couldn't agree more. As I see it TF has done exactly what everyone has been asking him to do. In terms of taking the club forward. A proven premiership manager, proven premier league and champions league players, a new training ground a new stadium, etc etc and still people want to #### him off.

He more than anybody must be absolutely devastated as to what has happened. It is his money after all.

Some people need to step back from the obvious disappointment that we are all feeling. Take some positivity and support tony. We are lucky to have him

                • I don't recall too many people shouting, 'don't do this, TF', 'don't do that, TF,' during any transfer window whilst TF has been at the club.

Do recall though, many of us, myself included, being well satisfied with the business done in those transfer windows.

Fate hasn't been kind to us, and until we get her back on side, witch hunts against a man who has only ever wanted success at Queen's Park Rangers, is madness, plain madness.

                      • When i first saw this thread i thought it was a wind-up.How many of Flavio's now supporters were begging him to stay at the end of his tenure. And how do we think FB would have managed at the helm of this club during 2 years of being in the Prem?

We would have had about 10 managers until tango decided he could have done the job himself and gone down at the end of last season! Anyone who thinks we were better off under the previous mob, sit back down and rematch the 4 year plan.

you may be saying that in jest, but i tell you, there were times towards the end of his reign when i thought FB might just be crazy enough to take over the Managers position
