In your opinion vblock, what should TF have done then?

Spent more? Spent less? Kept Warnock? Kept Hughes?

To me it just seems like people are blaming him as he's an easy target.

I'd like to know what people honestly think he should have done that would have improved us this season?

How many clubs in the Premier League actually return a profit though Neil? Every club baring maybe 4 or 5 spend over what they can afford to.

He gave Hughes free reign and gave go ahead to sign "names" on obscene wages, although imo Fernandes himself is responsible for the Park signing and naming him Captain. Then theres £12m for Samba, Harry or Tony pushed for this? my moneys on Fernandes and his "football manager" like desire to sign the popular (Tony loves to be loved as any PR guru would)choice and spending ridiculous money doing so. Just total naivety over 2 seasons and ultimately the buck stops with Fernandes and his man Beard for the total debacle these 2 seasons have been. Good businessman??? what good business has there been since he took charge? £150 million for a venue that will be in the best interests of my club? i dont think so. When you are the boss the buck stops with you...thats you Tony and your ****ing annoying patronising PR tweets

Again what i said we are no different, he has backed his expert on football ie; the manager and one in particular signed (what in hindsight i'd like to add) have been awful signings

So you can't blame Hughes and Redknapp if you think TF is responsible for signings then?

Lets not give them to much credit for that decision as its common knowledge they thought they were buying a restaurant until it was explained it was actually a football club.

They were chancers when it came to QPR they rolled the dice and got lucky and got us up on the cheap when we had no right to go up with the squad and outlay. Even after 3 and a bit years of meddling and the promised land in sight FB still could not resist trying to disable the good work done by Warnock.

Had we not gone up I dread to think what state or division we would have been in they wanted out the club and they wanted out with a profit so if Tony had not come along I would not have been surprised if they had got there profit from selling the ground.

Really don't see how TF is taking all the flake if we have failed (an we have) then its the BOARD (All Members) who have failed not one individual and then add the players to that also

                        Nah, was just in reply.

We all thought Hughes was building a good squad.

What would we as fans have said last season if TF had of vetoed Hughes signings when requested?

We would have said whats the point of appointing a manager and not backing him. Now with 9 months of hind sight it's easy to criticise, but all TF has attempted to do was support the manager, and try to give us a good, established premier league football club.

Yer they take a proportion of the blame imo Dave too...but ultimately its down to the boss. Reap the praise in the good times and take the criticism when he fails.

I'd love to see some old threads from when we announced our new signings, how many were then were giving Tony a hard time?

I think a chairman should have a say in who we buy, its often their money and at the end of the day if things go wrong they have to manage the fall out.
The Swansea Chairman has a say in signings and I see it as a good thing.
Managers often have short term and self interest goals whilst a chairman may be seeing the bigger picture, therefore what's wrong with a Chairman saying NO.
I agree chairmen should not get involved in day to day training or picks the team and positions but sanctioning signings to me is part of a chairmans job.
Since TF took over we have had questionable signings including Warnocks reign where Dyer, Bothroyd and Joey were all purchased. Does appear staggering that with all the money spent today Hill was our best defender, Derry was conducting our midfield and AT (with remy) was our only threat of attack. You know we havent a scooby when the sprinkler comes on at half time.
I know people say he's only the chairman, other people are responsible for what appears on the pitch, he can't be held to account. If that's the case then please please please don't move from LR as if our teams anything to go by the move is going to be an utter fiasco but dont blame TF as hes not the geezer who drew up the plans and sorted out the electricity, he's only the chairman....
