I think we give our players too much credit by blaming the line up, not playing players in certain positions blah blah blah...
Remember when posters said SWP not played on the correct side or Joey not in the middle...at the end of the day Sunderland don't have their main striker but get out of trouble.
The problem we have is not HR, my view is that he spotted we had clowns early and to be fair Jenas, Townsend, Samba and Remy have been the least of our problems.
We just have awful players whether it be , Mbia, Diakite and Granero who were just overseas players that added nothing and are an embarassment. Who are these players?
AJ, Dyer, BZ, Bos, Park, SWP ... Players that even at their peak were questionable but have come to us old or infirm (most cases both)
Hoilett and Cesar were at the time good signing, the former has bombed (writing was probably on tne wall when he was trying to get to Germany, his head ain't in the right place) but the latter must just think what has he turned up to.
Resulted in us relying on Derry, Hill and AT.
Don't get me started on Bothroyd, has all those tattoos making him self out to be hard but every time he got tackled yesterday he went down and started hobbling, less boys out of hood more boys zone.
You have Rigg a few months ago coming on radio saying last summer they had a transfer policy.
Where we are now isn't unforseeable, major errors in signings and building a team has been evident over the last two years and HR cannot be blamed, he tried but the rot was too deep and IMHO it ain't his fault, we are simply too rubbish.

The worst thing we can do at the moment is change manager. Three managers in two seasons. Isn't that enough? We need to support HR and make it clear that we would like him to stay. If he stays I think we have a chance next season, though he is saying it won't be easy. If he goes then I think we could finish near the bottom of the championship.
We have a chance now to start afresh. Hopefully before the next season, we can get a team which can do well in the championship (not necessarily get us up on the first attempt), so that eventually we can have a team which can at least compete in the premiership.
At the same time, the academy can be developed, the new training ground can be built and eventually three or four years down the line move to a new stadium.
Let's forget about the last two seasons and concentrate on the future. Not that there is much we can do about it other than continue supporting the team.
