  • most nomadic team in football league history so why cry over loftus road !

We are the most nomadic team by a mile and hold the record for having the most grounds in football league history.

Playing in at least 16 different locations in west and northwest London since 1882. Our first homes are unknown but were probably in the Queens Park area of north London, where the team originated. We have had three seperate spells at Loftus Road.

    ■Welford's Fields (1886–1888)
    ■London Scottish FC (1888–1889)
    ■Brondesbury (1888–1889)
    ■Home Farm (1888–1889)
    ■Kensal Green (1888–1889)
    ■Gun Club (1888–1889)
    ■Wormwood Scrubs(1888–1889)
    ■Kilburn Cricket Ground (1888–1889)
    ■Kensal Rise Athletic Ground (1899–1901)
    ■Latimer Road/St Quintin Avenue (1901–1902)
    ■Kensal Rise Athletic Ground (1902–1904)
    ■Royal Agricultural Society showgrounds (1904–1907)
    ■Park Royal Ground (1907–1917)
    ■Loftus Road (1917–1931)
    ■White City Stadium (1931–1933)
    ■Loftus Road (1933–1962)
    ■White City Stadium (1962–1963)
    ■Loftus Road (1963–present)
Dyslexic so please don't feel the need to correct my spelling mistakes as I really don't give a **** and before you say use spell checker if it is spelt right / wright but not in context spell check is useless

you make a good point, but when you think about it,if it is Old Oak Common,we are more or less moving back to our roots(well, closer to it at least)so we have come full circle

thats part my point we are all attached to W12 becouse it has been our home fo a while but at the end of the day we will still be QPR and another point in the late 70's earley 80's we where going to move to slough of all places not even in london !! and in the 90's there was also a rumour of a move of the M25 near iver

More than happy going to Old Oak. The old man used to work at the depot there and used to take me over there to have goes on the trains.

I grew up in NW6/NW10 so it's cool with me.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

yes we are all attracted to W12(me more so as i used to work at the BBC TV centre, but thats closed now)so going to Old Oak Common is not to bad.I think if we dont get in on this now, chances are in the future,we might end up moving further away(to the likes of Slough...yuk)not sure what postcode Old Oak Common is in..anybody know?

I Would find it historically interesting to know if we have any supporter(s) from the Park Royal period of the club still with us. Maybe not on this forum but anyway:=):
              Any clues?

Good point...anyway the most important thing is to get rid of that sh1tty badge. Looks like a complete joke and will be glad to get rid of it

Although it's worth pointing out that in the last 96 years we've pretty much played at Loftus Road the entire time, with a couple of short spells at the White City Stadium. Hardly nomadic....

All the upheaval came in the early days, before the war when we were playing non-league football.

Purely hypothetical, but would those averse to a move away from LR, be against a move to Queens Park if it was a possibility?

                          I think you're probably right.

Obviously nothing is confirmed or close but it's hard to believe that anyone is against a potential move to Oak Common because it's too far from home. Given a few years back we assumed that any move away from W12 would likely be to the Western International Market as a best case scenario, it's a real surprise to see a move this short being a possibility.

How does he make a good point the majority of those moves would only be remembered if you are 115 + years old
