I agree with the sentiment. Many of my good childhood memories are from being at Loftus Road with members of my family...... many who are sadly not with us any more.

However. The stadium and set-up is so far past its sell-by-date it's getting silly. I know that we can have a very intense, pretty much unique atmosphere - but that really is more of a function of overall enclosure and proximity to the pitch rather than the location and the prehistoric facilities..... And as I understand - the main design constraint on the new stadium is to make sure an LR-esq atmosphere can be recreated. So it's onwards and upwards for me.

Also, I don't think that Tony Fernandes is a chancer..... because when we were all screaming out for new players.... he provided more than enough dosh. Unfortunately he was a bit naive in empowering the pube-headed Welsh tw&t and his gang of leeches.

So put it this way: If we end up with a more sustainable QPR, with a bigger stadium just up the road..... then I will only be happy. Also, the train from Plymouth will stop just outside the door of the stadium with what is expected to be a 2 hour journey..... which means that I will get to see my beloved team a lot, lot more........... Even if that means that I will occasionally have to bring the musses with me.

Same here, Dave. Would be nice to see the club win some trophies. Would love to see us win the FA cup one day.

I'm the same rather keep the club and it's working class soul as a going concern!!! Don't care if the facilities are pony they always have been all I want is loftus road, Cookes, the KPH to continue being a ****ehole and no more pubs in the Bush having pine furniture and half a scotch egg for 3 nicker. For me this season has been the worst ever and that includes 2001 when we got done 4-0 at home to Stockport!

this is exactly how I feel....people with the opposing view logically should cheer when we lose surely

A new ground will still be 4-5 year away I would have thought so several more seasons at LR yet to treasure.
This. I can certainly agree with the sentiments of vespa's OP - the more we "grow" the less attached we become to our football club. Exactly as he says I don't wanna become a corporation like Chelski, unfortunately the way football is these days, it seems that if you want to be successful you have to be like that and almost lose your clubs identity that long time fans know & love. That's why I posted a comment the other day in the same vein as vespa's OP.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

unless we can claim our football back, a fairer distribution of tv revenue throughout the league, then I'm afraid the changes we fear and loathe will become reality
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
