I know a lot of people have given up in their mind but doing so will not help us. More beneficial is to prepare ourselves for the potential of relegation so that in the situation that we do get relegated, we are not disappointed. In the meantime, we might aswell help the team fight for safety. Look at the bottom three teams for form in the last 6 matches and you will see norwich, reading and stoke and i think that at least two of those teams will get relegated, both of whom we play in our next two matches. The best we can do is fight to make sure we don't become the third but we need to eliminate potential relegation disappointment early."What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. The idea that I trust my eyes more than the stats, I just don't buy that because I've seen magicians pull rabbits out of hats and I know I just know that rabbit's not in there." - Billy Beane

Villa have a horrendous run in and play Wigan last game of the season. If they draw they could end up relegating each other.
Stokes games if they were in any form should see them picking up points but I cant read them
Wigan have a mish mash of games but with an FA Cup final looming will they be fully committed???
Sunderland and Newcastle's run ins too are not straight forward winnable games but plenty they could loose as well.
If we are going to get out of this and its highly unlikely Villa, Wigan and Stoke and the only realistic targets. If we could win the next two games on the trot we have 30 points
Villas next two are Man Utd and Sunderland no points can be assumed from that
Wigan in their next two face Man City tonight, West Ham Away, again no points given there (tonights game could be pivotal)
Stoke face us (I think we can turn them over) and Norwich. If Stoke want to stay up they surely have to me targeting 4 points from those two games
Table could look a whole lot more friendly a week on Saturday if we win out next two and points are dropped above it could be a four point gap. I would not put my mortgage on us staying up and if someone put a gun to my head I would say we are down but as hey say its a funny old game.
If someone had said to me you could have a four point gap with 3 games to go after the Villa result I would have taken their hand off.

Also, my point was what was the point of continued negativity. Most of us are already accepting of relegation as I said so why not just fight until the end seeing as doing so will not depress us as fans even more
Secondly...continued negativity?? We have had an embarrassing season and look nailed on for relegation whilst only winning 4 games all season. Want to find something positive in that then go for it.
Lastly .... Fight until the end? just want to see the players fight for 90 mins and i'll be shocked.

When I done it we still went down even with 5 wins! But 16th, 17th and 18th were all on level points (39) and we went down on goal difference."When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

Of the games left the next two are the most winnable and the players may actually turn up with no pressure and perform. The way our season has been gone I would not be surprised if we drew both but equally were so erratic we could walk away with 6 points. Others slip up which could happen given their games and were chewing our fingernails again.
Chances are it wont happen but like I said lets take a game at a time. There is no expectation now so come the end of the Reading game if the gap is four points great if its not were where I thought we would be
