i dont get it. macmanaman commits an awful tackle and kone scores off a hand ball a few weeks ago, the ref maintains he didnt see it no further action. dowd didnt see zamora challenge but confers with 4th official to red card him. double hand ball today by wigan in the first half an a hand ball before the free kick that led to the goal, then ridgwells hand ball vs wba and their dubious goal. my point is, that if the 4th official has a hand in the game where doesit begin and end??? some clarity is needed i think, either the 4th official plays a role or doesnt.

He plays a role when it suits, what also really upsets me is the hypocrisy of managers and players, yes Zamora was a red but Gomez ducked into the tackle, yet Martinez quotes it as an absolutely appalling challenge and Gomez is very very lucky not to be seriously injured, just 2 weeks after the assault he witnessed at Wigan v Newcastle, which he and his chairman thought was a decent challenge...........just lose all respect for them.

He consulted with the lino, and on his say so he gets the red out. Fair enough if he didn't see it, but he was looking straight at it, therefore has to go with his own decision otherwise what's the point of having a ref at all.
A yellow card would have been sufficient as there was no real intent there, and Gomez was ducking down slightly.

Said the same thing how can the 4th official be getting involved?...For him to be mouthing off what happened he must have watched a replay, yet we're told the other week tv replays can't be used.......you can say what you like but i don't think the FA have ever wanted us in their "jewel in the crown" division, since Faurlingate. And before i get the usual "its coz were cr*p we're bottom" ....i think rubbish reffing contributes as much to our situation as rubbish play

im pretty certain it was referred to the fourth official just like the barton headbutt that never was vs naarich, you see the 2 of them fiddling with their headsets. its the type of foul that you see a yellow or red for and sometimes nothing at all. its the kind ofthing stoke players get a talking to for
