  • "Committed to QPR for Life" - new blog from Tony Fernandes

This is not a one-year or two-year project at QPR. This is a lifelong commitment. We need a new training ground, a new stadium and a more successful academy. The path in front of us is exciting. With a little bit of luck along the way, I am confident we can fulfil the dreams of the R's supporters over the coming weeks, months and years.

Do you think we've been unlucky this season?

Unlucky? No way. IMO we have been $hit. We are where we deserve to be. We can look at a few isolated incidents and say about bad luck (in fairness none actually spring to mind), but so can every club. When you're doing badly, though, it's easier to focus on them and blame your current situation on that when, in reality, you're just not good enough - as is our case this season.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Well injuries are unfortunate, but when you sign injury prone players - is it really bad luck?

As for talking about a couple of penalty misses.....that is not luck at all. In fact a penalty is nothing to do with luck. We missed them and really...... missing a cpl pens is hardly the reason we are in the relegation zone - we were already in it when we took both those pens and had either gone in we would still be in it.

So, no - I don't think we have been unlucky.

I think we are being run by well intentioned people who simply don't have the football know how and have made poor decisions.

Do I want them to stay - yes, as they are willing to learn and appear to be in for the fight.

Been embarrassingly bad for two seasons from the board to the players.

Can't say I see anything much wrong with what Tony says. He is a very passionate man which is maybe why as lifelong sufferers (being Rs fans) we sometimes find it strange to have such a positive owner, particularly when things have not been going well.

Don't really agree with luck thing but not a big deal. You could argue we were lucky at Chelsea and at home to Spurs who both battered us to be fair albeit to our credit two gritty backs to the wall performances. There have also been games this season where we deserved something and got nothing. It's all part of it.

I actually think board have been great. A lot of work has been put into building an infrastructure so we have a potentially good long term future which will allow the club to grow over time. The board have supported all the managers. Not sure what more could have been done on that level. For me that puts us in a good place even allowing for the debacle on the pitch this season. If things fall into place will it really be so bad to be in the Championship for a year or two? We should at least win more games which would be nice and have thrill of promotion challenge. 4 wins in 31 games is frankly depressing and not much fun and it is after all a game and as such should be fun.

sadly the table never lies we're where we are because we've been poor especially defensively, as much as T.F. says he's committed I'D like to hear the same form the Mittals

If Harry was here at the start of the season we'd have been fine. We have been unlucky
              Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
              And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Good for you Tony....... Because so am I.

So lets (like in all probability) go down with grace...... smash the fakes record of 106 points out of the park...... and come back fresher, bigger, and stronger..... and be the team that made us so respected, and such a talking point in the mid 70's and early 90's.

We will be relegated not because of bad luck, but because of stupid mistakes made by high quality players that is never acceptable at this level. Cesar, with all his reputation, cost us against West Ham, Aston Villa and Swansea to mention just a few. Samba was at fault against Fulham. Hill made mistakes, Traore, Taraabt, Bosingwa....all made huge mistakes. We were critisized time and tima again that such defending cannot keep you in the Premier. That's the reality.

Why are you telling him to fark off. It's his opinion that we had some bad luck and to an extent I agree.

We were unlucky in as much that we entrusted that clown Hughes(with a good previous record of managing football clubs) to manage the club so poorly. He got rid of him as soon as he realised how sh1te he was.

Telling the person that is stating in that "****** article" that he is here for life(which can only be good for the club) to fark off, is a bit silly.

Can't knock Tony as he has backed managers to the hilt, problem is Hughes and Redknapp aren't the managers we need at this football club.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!
