  • Hill and Samba both need to be gone before we get back up

Hill never was PL material, just the best of what we had. Samba is a beast but not fast enough for a PL team and that's why he was at blackburn. We have to plan two years ahead now and have two good CB's in place before we go up. Defence stability is the key to any successful team no matter where you are in the league.

Obviously Arsenal might beg to differ on that one.....! Samba makes mistakes in one game and all of a sudden he's not a PL player...IF he'd got the equaliser tonight or even the winner he'd be the best CB ever.! Hmmm.

Your Samba comment is stupid IMO.

Samba is a top centre pretty much most teams in this league would have without a second thought. Unbelievable some of the knee jerk reactions
            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
            And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Well I think Samba will definately be off no worries there.
Hill? well I think he has another year in him and would be great to have in the championship for the season even as a sub.

It's not knee jerk at all. I have a lot of respect for him and like him, and would be happy for him to stay a while, but his pace is limited. And we need to build a sound CB partnership that will last a few seasons over the CC and the prem in case we don't get back first time and I would be happier with a faster player. Samba can be accomodated in a defence that compensates for his lack of pace, and would be OK in the CC if he stays, but it's just a personal view. I'm not knocking them per se, we have to think about the implications of rebuilding, that's all I said.

Samba needs a very fast partner at this level. Sorry, but replacing one very slow player with another to partner yet another slow player was not going to save us.
