  • A shock statistic

I don't know how this is possible with adel and granero on set piece duty:
Have you ever found yourself at a game when your team wins a corner, the noise level increases with the anticipation of an opportunity to score... and then the delivery doesn't even beat the first man. How annoying, frustrating, infuriating... today we name and shame the worst players and the worst teams. Take a look at our list.

I had the same reaction as you... maybe Bosingwa has improved the average in the last few weeks

is this an april fools story???

Remarkably, Aston Villa and QPR - two relegation contenders - have the best accuracy record for finding a team mate in the box from a corner. Wigan with 107 have the lowest number of corners into the box, followed by Norwich on 108 and QPR on 109.

          Very interesting!

Unfortunately, a much more important statistic is what the team mate does with the ball when you find him!
'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

We all watch games with our preconceived notions and will notice those things that back it up.

'Adel is a poor set piece deliverer' is one of the common themes, and in match threads you'll see that any corner/free-kick that goes to the first defender is greeted with a few posts of 'typical' and the like, but the ones that don't don't get a mention usually because we're all too busy watching the play develop. (and by 'play develop', I mean the opposition win the ball after a poor header and break down the other end immediately)

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Just another one of those pointless stats that abound in football.

If you got some stat that makes QPR & Villa better than ManUtd/CFC/AFC it is most likely because the stat lacks validity and is therefore misleading.

Balls into the box - who cares - goals scored counts a million times more and matches up with the EPL table too.

Also Jenas or others can take corners, it is not difficult, kick ball at Samba's head, that is not some magic skill only Adel+Granero can do.
