  • You can't predict this

I am just curious how so many people are predicting our downfall given the season we have had. Could any of us really have predicted anything that has happened this season.
Examples: at the start of the season, did anyone predict us losing 5 0 at home to Swansea and not winning at all for 16 matches? did anyone predict us signing Julio Cesar? what about keeping 2 clean sheets against Chelsea and winning one of those especially given the runs Chelsea were on before those matches? what about going unbeaten in the first 4 of Redknapp's matches or remaining unbeaten for a whole month against Chelsea and Tottenham and Man City and keeping clean sheets against all of them? what about signing Remy at the last possible opportunity or Jenas being actually rather good and Townsend being a revelation at the wings?
Yes, the odds are against us but lets face it, nothing is guaranteed and with the way our season has been going, we need to expect the unexpected and support the team in the same way we have been most of this season and just hope that they can pull off a surprise or two in the remaining matches

Before the season most of us were pretty optimistic, some overly so in predictions of a top half finish, but I think most thoguht we would at least be fairly comfortabley safe from relegation. And that's not a QPR bias; most level headed opposition fans I spoke to agreed at the start of the season they thought we would be fairly safe this year..... How wrong we all were eh
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

In May I was dead certain that if Hughes was not enticed to leave before next season started we would be flirting with relegation again. But I did not think we would do so poorly, he certainly surpassed my expectations.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

That is my point, how can some fans say that without a shadow of a doubt, we will have to prepare for the championship next season. I don't think this season is a normal one, what with west brom and norwich and swansea doing so well. even cisse was a weird one so i still feel that the belief of the fans can make or break our season because i am starting to see some nice football which i havent seen in a long time at loftus road

I don't really know why it went wrong so badly. It boils down to poor management, we had the wrong managers for a start whom purchased the wrong players. Most of the players we bought were over 31 and past their best. HR tried hard to save us but he was really unlucky in 5 of the games (especially last week).

whilst it is not mission impossible to stay up, the defeat at Villa and the 2 points dropped at home to Norwich will in my view prove costly.

QPR are probably going to need 5 wins - most likely from games against Fulham, Stoke, Wigan, Reading and Newcastle. Failing that they will need wins against Everton, Arsenal or Liverpool.

It is a very tall order and many of us recognise this.

Given the fixtures they have to play, Sunderland have a huge task to avoid dropping into the bottom 3, but I expect Villa and Wigan to pick up another 7 and 10 points from their fixtures.

But as you say, it is not entirely predictable (football rarely is that easy to predict, otherwise many of us would make a killing each week on football betting).

I have to disagree with the first part there, we only signed 5 over 31's at the start of the season and two were goalkeepers in there prime and nelsen has become in effect a symbol of the hope that we have, i agree with the end though

I don't see what is stopping us from doing that considering we were unbeaten against teams who were much better in january

We have won 4 times in 30 odd matches, whats makes anyone think we can win 5 from our remaining games? We will go down and deserve to.

We can win 5 from our remaining 8 because we have won 2 of our last 3

....because anyone who knows anything about football in general, and not solely focused on QPR specifically, will know that it can be a strange and unpredictable game at times where the bizarre can happen....and while there are still eight games to go and 24 points on offer there is always a chance......a slim one granted, but still a chance nonetheless and still mathematically possible.
