I suppose if you really wanted a multi-use venue there would probably be some way of constructing a retractable roof,Im no engineer so Im just dreaming here but it would be modern, close to the pitch hopefully resulting in it being atmospheric.

I think you've got the wrong end of the right stick.
If the tickets were the same prioce as now, but the product was better value, then the occasional supporters would come more often and we would also attract people who follow rangers but have never been to LR or have only been a couple of times.

I love LR, but compared to most PL grounds it is a hole. A quality stadium with good facilities would attract more punters. I don't mind if the bloke sat next to me was attending his fiirst Rangers game or if he supported us in Div 3 south, we would both be rooting for the team in our different ways.

I can understand people who have been going for years and yearn for the good old days of terracing and knowing everyone around you, but that is the past and there is no recapturing that. The future is QPR in the PL as a stable cub in a 35000 seater quality stadium that people actually want to spend time in. If there was retail oppurtunites for making money on non match days, or another sporting team using and sharing the the facilities this would all generate extra income.

i dont get this obsession with "tourists"..as long as i can remember, going back to the 80's,there have been overseas visitors to LR,loads from the likes of Sweden etc.I remember about 10 years ago, home game, playing Rotherham, had a large group of American schoolkids sitting behind me,so it is not a new thing. The reason why the atmosphere is diluted at games now is a combination of all seater stadiums, and more women and children attending, which,in my book,is a good thing. Some people just live in the past

The majority of us do accept failure , because were so used to it , and thats what makes the successes that we do get ,taste so much sweeter than what a newbie tourist Chelsea fan could ever experience ,with all their success

have you been to qpr this season mate? its already started.

the atmos is draining away and we are getting more and more turists.

that is what tony fernandes wants so if you want tony to remain at the club then your gonna have to accept this fact.

Three million foreign visitors spent a phenomenal £2.3 billion in the UK in 2008 watching and playing sport, according to a new survey by VisitBritain, the national tourism agency.
yeah,.the survey shows Britain’s world-class football is the key attraction for foreign spectators. Around 1.2 million went to a match of whom 267,000 were Irish, 95,000 Americans, 88,000 Germans, 86,000 Norwegians, 75,000 Spanish, 65,000 Italians, 55,000 Australians, 52,000 Dutch, 46,000 French and 39,000 Swedes...lets start banning them, only people who can prove they have been watching the R's since the Alec Stock days.

Oh thanks for that , your interesting stats from Visit Britain have just gone and swung it for me
Lets relocate to Heathrow ,build a 100,0000 all seater stadium , fill it with the 88,000 Germans ( who are here for "britains world class football ")and 12,000 QPR fans , the atmosphere will be amazing ,we can all sing 99 Red Balloons and munch on Bratwvurst or whatever its called.
Sounds like a plan, Achtung

oh blimey, are you a headline writer for the Sun.(isnt it funny when people get Xenophobic, its aimed at the likes of the Germans, never the Irish,Americans,Aussies) ..all i was saying is how important tourists are to our economy..they bring in a lot of money. In a recession,i i dont think we can afford to be too choosey about where our countries income, comes from.As i have said, the tourist thing is overblown,i have been going to LR for 30 years, they have been foreign tourists in attendance.Like it or not, football coverage is one of the few things we export now.The main reason for expansion is getting in the next generation of R's

• Remember the fact that the Fernandes led consortium is worth around £1B and added to Mittal's £11B...I know its not about how much the owners are worth but they won't want a bad business on their CVs and they won't sell for peanuts.

TF wants to be successful in everything he goes in to and if going down is a minor blip in the long haul of things then so be it!
