  • Loftus Road

If we flattened it and built a modern stadium from scratch would we be able to build a 30k ground if it was built sensibly on the current site?? One for those in building trade perhaps

We would then just have building costs and would not have to incur the cost of purchasing land. Is it do able??

so many missed opportunities, had the option of purchasing the old ellerslie school when it closed down. O for a TF then, sadly just think its too small, but what a location
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

Nope too small unless they buy up all the houses around the ground and flatten em.

One advantage of the Championship is that we stay at Loftus Road for the time being.

Only way to do it would be to close South Africa road. And that's never going to happen

even if you could-which is pretty much impossible imo- the extra 12,000 on the gate would'nt generate enough reveue to pay anything back. 30k is enough for us but i'm sure the owners would use their marketing skills to bring everything from billy graham to billy smart on board. looking at 35-40k min in a very viable/commercial area of london to make it a stand out venue. depends on a quick return to the top flight by which tf and co will have passed their apprenticeship. if it was done at the right time we,d nick all fulhams and half of chelsea's tourist trade. west ham need to fc uk it up and as the ol saying goes....."west LONDON is ours.

I believe we need to do what MK Dons have done or something similar. That is to build a stadium which can be expanded.

new stadium very close to the city has huge potential-a very threat to the kind of project tf and co was aiming at. the one club in london who are willing to uproute to expand-their failure would be our gain in the new super-marketing world of the premiership.my point. by the way i've been west ham more times than you've had stuffing on a sunday.

How would everyone feel about the land where hendon fc old ground was on Claremont road?...plenty of room for a 40k stadium there.

Personally Fulham and Chelsea`s tourist trade can poke it up their a rses , i dont wont to sit amongst those types, To be honest , i dont want to sit down at all, but as we all have to ,i want to sit with real supporters of Queens Park Rangers, whose allegiances will always stay loyal through whatever ,( i dont mean everyone has to attend every week or they`re not loyal , i meen the REAL fans , the people who for family, geographical or whatever reasons ,will always bleed blue and white hoops ),
I`ll say it now ( while i`m p issed ) , i dont want to support a big club with a big ground ,where no one knows each other ,where there is no atmosphere , where we turn into what Chelsea has done . i grew up in a staunch Chelsea suburb of South London , and none of my mates ,who were regulars on the Shed , whitewall, bovril, benches at the Bridge still go ,its not because they,re not loyal ,far from it, its because they are not part of the "new look " Chelsea ,they`re not welcome , they dont fit into Chelsea`s plan for the future.
I dont want this to happen to us, and if that meens i dont want the club to grow and become successfull so be it .
I didnt support Rangers for success , ( i support Rangers because one day i came home home from school with a Palace scarf , so my old man decided to educate me ), if i craved success so much that i was prepared to sell my ( and my clubs ) soul , i would have supported Liverpool or Man Utd like all the other misguided children of the late 70s

What i`m trying to say is , i dont want Rangers to change beyound all recognision , its like a family ( albeit a a disfunctional one ) and i dont want that to change

I know things have changed but when we were in the old First Division, we played games at Loftus Road with no great problems. Ticket sales are not really of great importance to clubs. They get most of their revenue from sponsorship and tv. Why can't this continue? Even if we stay in the premiership and do relatively well, I don't think the fan base is going to increase much. We are a small local club and have always been a small local club. Perhaps ways can be found to update Loftus Road and perhaps increase capacity a bit. This could be paid for by finding a sponsor for the stadium.
