just skim reading as it's late but we shpould remember fernandes is the front man for a GROUP. wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't even the main man financially . . . .

either way i'm optimistic. we are in a better place than a lot of clubs, regardless of the likelyhood of relegation

at least we're west london and not some godforsaken **** hole in the sticks

He is part of a 3 man consortium with Ruban and another. They are all worth about the same personal wealth so approx £1bn between them.

Exactly.... i think the lasty i heard Mittal was worth about £20bn, plus TF's group and i'd say we are pretty comfortable when it comes to wealthy owners. All the more reason it makes me laugh when people panic loads or make a song and dance about us paying prem wages in the prem.....

How about us paying prem wages in the Championship?

Yes but that's what happens to anyone who gets relegated. The point is to try and succeed you generally need to pay the going rate, no matter how ridicuous the going rate is. If we go down the gamble will have failed, same as many other teams who went down.

Some will leave, others wages cropped and many still on modest wage anyway. Just because there are a handful on very very good wages doesn't mean we will implode. a hell of a lot of money has come in over the 2 years through Sky money, sponsorships deals etc, plus we have £12m parachute payments next year alone. so along with the owners backing i don't see major disaster some suggest.

Also the main point is that we may have offered decent wages, but for the majority have hardly spent on transfers. Remy, Samba and Granero aside, we would easilly recoup what we paid for them, so less of a gamble. We had about 8 free transfers. I wonder would people make such a fuss if instead of those 8, we signed 8 modest players for about £2m each and payed less wages, ie, outlay the same. I doubt it.
