Funerals are a very emotional occasion. The event is still very much happening. This is an online forum. Three years have passed, and we don't even know if any of Tom's family are ever going to read that message. So for you to compare them, is just completely wrong, and I am sad the lengths people would go to to try and put someone down.

Incidentally, if someone said to me that Tom's family are going to read the thread, then I probably would not have posted anything there but RIP, for fear of offending them. But I do not know if they will ever read it or not. Furthermore, I have been told off for creating too many threads, and that is why I did not want to create another one, especially on a political subject, because then people would say I am seeking attention, and I only have a few days left here (as the poll closes on Monday and the mods have already decided they will use the results of the poll to decide on whether I should be allowed to post or not), and I want to be able to post tomorrow and Sunday as I think Sunderland is a critical game, and so am doing nothing that might get me an infraction point.

Marshy we live in the 'google' age, anyone of Tom's family or friends that google his name will see your insensitive post, I'm glad you appear to regret posting it.

And, no, soldiers who die out there are not dying for us. They're dying for the rich, for the elite, but they're definitely not dying for us.

This does not make their loss any less sad, but if people realised how those in power use wars to keep themselves in power, maybe we would have less wars and less soldiers would die.

You've just said you don't know if they will ever read it. In that case why post something which even runs the risk of causing offence if there is a chance one of his family may read it? And as it's a popular QPR forum I would say there is a high chance of that. So to avoid that risk why not simply offer your condolences and just leave it at that, just like everyone else did? In fact in the entire history of this site I can't remember a single condolence thread ever being spoilt in such a way.

In that case I will edit my post, and bring the discussion of war to a new thread in the General section, if you don't have a problem with me starting a new thread.

There is. I know what you're saying in that sometimes it's nice to have a debate without slanging, but in this particular instance the bloke is trying to compare people giving their condolences to a fallen soldier with some pratt using the thread to make political arguements. In my mind, that makes him a **** of the highest order, exactly as jfish stated. Sometimes the blunt truth needs to be told.

look we are all being over analytical about this subject,some of us have penetrated chelsea message boards and we have put a serious spanner in the works,creating merry hell getting genuine chelsea fans banned
but all of us were winkled out over a period of time its sounds cruel but its all part of the message board war that has raged since 2004

Why not try reflecting on why you've been called these things??? Very, very few posters receive such treatment. We all rub along for the most part. In your case, on this thread, on this topic, these descriptions are throughtly deserved.

This just proves my point about bullying. If you go along with the majority viewpoints, you're cool. The moment you start voicing opinions that people don't like, you start getting called names, as this thread has proved where Geng, who has not been abusive to anyone, has been called all sorts of names.
