I really haven't. There is a whole world out there with different political views to you, and judging from today it seems a lot of you have almost zero exposure to opposite viewpoints outside of ridiculous caricatures of them

It says something when this forum isn't even able to keep a condolences thread for a fallen soldier civil :pleasantsuprise:
Fair enough, but we are 'debating' said points here, and loads of people are just yelling at me rather than engaging with anything I'm saying.

Again, can't see where you've gotten this idea from? Who has disagreed with the specifics of a point made? It's solely the time & place of the comments made that has, quite rightly, got peoples backs up.

          Not controversial, but can you not see that;

"RIP the deceased", does not necessarily equal "RIP the deceased and God Bless the troops" or any other additional political view.

Regretting the death and sending consoling thoughts (and prayers if you wish) to the family left behind, is a pretty basic human reaction. Sure we may all have our take on the political implications of a death of a soldier, and our feelings towards the foreign policy involved in placing him in that danger, but a simple show of regret for the death of someone, especially someone with whom we shared a great love, is not a political sentiment.

I haven't even posted on the other thread and I've been called:

              clueless and insensitive
              shameful
a **** of the highest order
              ****ing cluless ****

              and more besides.

I thought the "**** of the highest order" was in reference to Marshy? Hense my agreement with it.

                      Let's discuss:

                      Mackie is brilliant.
                      Adel is $hit.
                      Mbia is a pub player.
                      Green is awful.
Warnock would have kept us up.

Why not try reflecting on why you've been called these things??? Very, very few posters receive such treatment. We all rub along for the most part. In your case, on this thread, on this topic, these descriptions are throughtly deserved.

I reckon I've spent a fair bit more time reflecting on my views on these things than most people having a go at me.

I disagree with everything you've said, and believe it shows a distinctly right-wing bent (that's right I said bent), and subsequently question your parentage and/or sexual proclivities. *angry face*

                            (am I doing this right?)

Had to log in to write about the same. Could the moderators please lock this thread now or at least move it to general chat?
