If you are getting posts reported frequently then there are such proper ****as posting on here nowadays. Marshy is tame compared to bygone posters , I suggest you reply to these whinging ***** and tell them to get a life. Mind you if you are getting woken up in the early hours dealing with 'admin' problems then maybe you need to get one too.

This MB is becomimng full of some proper melts nowadays, its really is.
Reading through that well phrased work of art, I spotted some very valid points.

I fully agree that there is a lot less aggravation than during the time you refer to. Those great old days when instead of the likes of Marshy banging on about Taraabt and Redknapp, we had a large number of people making false, misleading allegations that they could never back up about a former chairman, various posters, etc. How refreshing it is to see that those days are mostly behind us. Marshy's attempts to spam the messageboard are no different to all the nonsense spouted by certain people back then. The funniest thing about it was that so many of the anti GP brigade chose this site to bleat about him. Maybe because they mistakenly thought he had some involvement. Same as they mistakenly thought other things, but always failed to prove them. Not that I was either pro or anti, but the fact that some just couldn't stop squealing used to make me laugh.

Much the same as Marshy makes me laugh today. Most can see that generally speaking, he makes a fool of himself. Not necessarily because of his views on the game, but due to how he chooses to put them across. Probably got OCD if the number of times he manages to use derivatives of the word "Bully" is anything to go by.

But what I find most intriguing of all, is the inability of some to just laugh it off and not get wound up by it. The way that some call for bans and action, instead of just dealing with the fact that some people will have different opinions. The way that they label them Fulham fans, which has just got to be the most ridiculous response ever. A psychiatrist's dream, I should think. And other than particularly nasty or racist type posts, should grown men and women really need to squeal about the ramblings of others?

Aside from the fact that it doesn't sit too well within the site's rules, the swearing doesn't particularly bother me in the slightest. Once again, if one cannot compose a paragraph or two without using certain words that actually don't add anything to their point, it says more about them than anybody else.

But thank you for reminding us all that in the main, the majority of people on this board now get on pretty well considering they hold a wide range of opinions, which is to their credit and certainly an improvement on those previous times. A big thank you to all of them, as within reason, all views are welcome and we all know what this board would resemble if we spent the entire time agreeing with others.

Sorry for rambling on, but think we should all just act on here as we would face to face, down the pub. Far more interesting to read someone else's opinion and examine why they feel that way instead of just dismissing it out of hand due to it being different to the one we may hold.

I think Marshy would respond better to being disagreed with if people said what was wrong with the post (eg mine and others responses to Mackie as a CM) rather than just writing 'idiot!' 'troll!' etc etc
Think you might be over estimating these particular posters...........that would entail forming a coherent sentence.

well indeed. There's a fair bit of anti-intellectualism in the pitchfork brigade that follows every one of Marshy's OPs. Not that he doesn't encourage it, of course.

His OPs are regularly met with a load of one line cliches, rather than responses that actually engage with Marshy's points.

I think people here are having trouble separating Marshy's actual arguments from the tone of his posting. Obviously he writes provocative posts, and starts an annoying amount of threads, we all know that. But he kicks off important debates, and this forum badly needs this.
I agree 100% and the more I think about it, the more it seems wrong to ban this guy based on hus internet tone of voice! He's had a go at me a couple of times as have others but I like that and don't take it personal, hell my opinions can change after one match sometimes! This is an internet forum for debate, not an echo chamber! I think this would sort itself out in time anyway and I really believe that it's wrong to ban someone because the majority of posters don't like him!

I don't think there is much debate about him being a Rangers fan, no doubt an attention seeker but there are a few of those around!

This MB was set up to act as a mouthpiece to Paladini, time and time again that point was proven until there was nothing left to squabble about. The MB has now been sanitised and when someone line Marshy pops up , posters start crying like little girls to Mods. Debate has improven but generally we are seeing far less personalities as well, that itself probably coincided quite well with the being in the PL
