We don't want to exclude anyone. In fact we're hoping to get younger members able to view the site and not have parents be worried at what they might see.

The forum has been discussed for awhile, and may very well not see the light of day. We've just put the idea out there to be discussed. In all honesty, it's something we'd like to do but even those of us that are for it think it's very possible it won't work out. If the forum did see the light of day, it'd purely be on a trial basis at first. We just want to give a better experience to all who view the forum. Whether they are old Rangers, or helping to attract the next generation of R's.

Myself, I like a bit of dark humour. Maybe goes against what many might find acceptable, this is the kind of thing we can have on the new forum. But at the end of the day, I can always tone my humour down to an acceptable level or just use PMs if I think it may offend. I guess we just want to give people a little more freedom to be themselves.

Am I the only one who thinks this is the wrong way round?
If parents are complaining about the Adult content in this football site, why not have a separate section that is for the under 18s or people who don't like swearing where they can discuss issues in a nice sensible non aggressive way.
And remove the ridiculous censoring (don't even know if that's a real word!) of swear words in the main section.
I thought the idea of a site like this is to have a chat with other QPR fans as if you were all in a pub, where obviously you are going to hear whatever that person says. And if you don't like what they say, you can comment on it and/or remove yourself from the conversation if you wish.

A forum of this kind will split the site. Most of the contraversal posters have left anyway and things have been very timid since the likes of Weare and TMP (to name a few) have gone elsewhere. The banter is poor and if you dare to swear or say anything that might upset someone you get points or you are banned.

Part of the problem is that we are now in the 'promised' land and posters are 'just glad to be here' whereas when we were in the lower leagues passions ran a lot higher and people were more outspoken.

Leave things as they are, this is still the most popular site with the most users. Its not for everyone and doesn't suit every mood. If I want a rant I'll come on here, for more reasoned arguement I'll go elsewhere, lets face it there must be in excess of 12 QPR message boards, some more interlectual than others.

If you take your 10 year old to any game, home or away, they'll hear and witness a lot worse than you'll ever get on here

The EPL is not all its made up tp be - not allowed to sing, shout, can't stand, can't swear, got to sit in your ticketed seat, and now can't post what you want on you own site!
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

You can also say fornicate. But since it isn't swearing, I'm not sure on relevancy?

Thing is, we all pretty much know what the asterisks mean, and we've likely read them as the swear words you intended. We may not get them spot on, but the general feeling is obvious.

Do we actually need to see them?

The opposite could be argued of course, that if we all think the swear words as we read the asterisks, why bother with the asterisks?

                              It's a tricky one.....

Its a good idea, i go to the pub after the match , and chat bolloc ks with people about Rangers , birds , and scooters, and say things that i wouldn`t necessarily say in front of my kids. Its good to be able to say what you like ,without being told off ,like a child.
If this can be done in an area where no ones getting offended or kids can`t access , i`m all for it.
