As this thread is in the general chat section not many people have seen it yet, so perhaps I'll move it into the main section to allow more people to have a say. I'll consult my fellow mods to see if they agree. I think its important for all our members to be aware of what we're considering and give an opinion if they wish to.

By anything goes, it appears we just mean swearing is allowed?
In which case could we not just implement a switch like on the not606 site which turns the swear filter off and on.
That way, those who can handle it can see the swear word, and those with it switched off, would see the censored version. As a bonus, it would stop the pathetic hoops that some go through to circumvent the swear filter to get a swear word visible, which would actually be better overall.
Unless a new section had far relaxed rules on the usual suspects, racism, homophobia, #### (and by christ there's a current news story that I'm sure most of us are 'intrigued' aroused by) etc, then just a section where people could insult each other with actual swear words just seems a little childish, ironically.

Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

Already, even before the so-called 'lads forum' is up and running, a list of 'do's' and 'don'ts' is being drawn up.
Frankly, the 'lads forum', wouldn't be that much different to the 'family forum.'
The main section should go back to a family forum, no swearing and adult talk, and no few sexy or nude photo's.
The other section you can discuss things which we don't want on the main forum, we will not allow #### and you can swear, we don't mind seeing the (stars) ****. We don't want it on the main forum and this section will only be visible to members that want access to it. You have to remember that you'll get more banter in this section. We will allow small swearing at each other, as we would normally do, anything going a bit over the top, it will have to be moderated.
Members that have access to the new forum, will have access to both forums.
If anyone else has some idea's then let us know.

Might as well leave things as they are
I don't particularly want an adult forum that only let's me type the word **** every two minutes.

Just to clarify; we do receive alot of PM's, emails etc, from members, both long standing & new complaining about some of the things that are discussed in the main forum. We also receive quite a few requests from members asking for their accounts to be deleted as they do not want any of their kids reading the main forum because of some of the 'not so family friendly' posts popping up from time to time.
Its abit like being stuck between a rock & a hard place; we are trying to cater to an ever growing audience & at the same time, we really do understand that football by its very nature does include alot of adult banter.
Like Myu said above, we have been discussing the idea of a 'lads' type forum for sometime; judging by the poll results, it does look as if alot of people want a section like this.
But we are not just going to throw it up & hope for the best.
We really do want everyone's input, both pro & con, so that if we do decided to go ahead & make this section, we have tried to incorporate everyones ideas.
Anyone not comfortable in posting their views can PM any of the mods/admins or even drop us an email.Last edited by Fraggy; 14-09-2012, 02:32 PM.Minds Are Like Parachutes.
