A question for Bill, not me! but genuinely I do not believe "protected species" to mean anything racist, and I believe it to be a shame that it is construed as such.

I looked at Bill's post and I assume he means that the level of (misplaced) confidence initially invested in the Les / Jimmy show means that they are 'protected', since giving them the old heave ho would be seen as yet another admission of failure, and therefore a course of action which the board maybe reluctant to embrace. I personally don't see any racist implications in the description.

Multi lingual ability and ethnicity mean nothing in this debate. The ability to engender a football culture means everything. Imo, obviously.

Former Valley man has had to fill in the gaps at Rangers - but will a place on the flanks suit him better than a customary role down the middle? JFH makes it plain

“I see him in the middle he’s playing on the right at the moment; we have injuries - but we have bought him for in the middle of things,” he said.

IMO we can't keep sacking managers. We are not a big club, we don't have a squad capable of pushing for promotion imo, and we will def not be in a relegation battle. Top 10 with a couple half decent cup runs would be OK for me the way the club is. We are 8 games into a 46 game season and currently 4 points of the top 6. Yes the past few results haven't been good, nor the performances but I am willing to give a newish coach the chance to try and sort things out. He hasn't had a bad spell yet in his managerial career so he needs to learn from it, not get fired. As fans we are starting to sound like the Arsenal lot, very fickle imo. Everyone of course is entitled to an opinion, but first and foremost we need to realise we are just not good enough for some expectations.

If we sack JFH, it is just another never ending circle. New manager will come in, want to spend money, lose as many as they win, 6 months later we are unhappy calling for his head.

                My thoughts exactly Robbo.

                Interesting poll results so far...

50% of us giving him between now and 4 games to fix things.

The other 50% giving him between December and a full season.

                Quite split really...

Gonna need to let Jimmy have a chance with a fully fit team in their propa positions.
On paper we look quite strong. The game against Leeds we had 2 wingers in Shodipo and Gladwin staying on the line which split the defence up. Now we have them as well as Yeni and Powel.

If we are all honest, we are a mid table/pushing for playoffs team. A couple of good results at the start perhaps skewed that vision slightly. A mid table side generally wins a few, draw a few and loses a few. Mid table teams generally dont play like Barca every week. I think we should stick with him, long term, Rome wasn't built in a day etc etc

                        http://www.htafc.com/news/article/hu...b-2785932.aspx - 5th November 2015, Huddersfield appoint Wagner

                        http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35005002 - 4th December 2015, QPR appoint Hasselbaink

These two managers have had a similar amount of time in their jobs and the stark contrast is remarkable, with Huddersfield probably still spending half of what we have on players. I believe it's about picking the right gem that is out there somewhere, which is exactly what Huddersfield have done.

Why should we be a mid-table side? You'd say our squad was stronger than Huddersfield's at the start of the season, no? And they don't like look like a mid-table side - All about the manager.

                        Just saying...

Better comparison is to see where Huddersfield and QPR are at the end of the season.

It looks pretty ominous where we will end up compared to Huddersfield if each clubs styles of play continues...

We currently look a country mile off Huddersfield

Maybe now but we'll see. LONG way to go.

Just to add - I thought Huddersfield looked decent at Loftus Road last season...good side, well organised.

The poll is not really a good reflection. There are some fans who want him to go whatever happens. I think for the majority it depends on what happens during the next few weeks. If he continues to play negative football, and the results are similar to those up to present (including Leeds and Cardiff) a large number will not want him to stay after December. If he realizes changes need to be made and as a result we get to a more exciting flexible game plan even if the results are not brilliant then fans will be prepared to give him a chance.
