Play him against Wales and slov and fingers crossed he can inspire us to two more draws. I don't think so though, they both looked do good for us against each other imo.
Both us and Russia could beat both those sides and go through 1st and 2nd. My only concern is we are going into it with a draw that feels like a loss and Wales on a high in what is a local derby so quality matters little. Yes they have some decent players and the outstanding player, but as a collective we should have far too much for them. If Bale plays up top for them again we need to nullify them getting service to him, and by default nullify his threat too.

I'm a Rooney fan and think he's been the man for the job to draw or get a last kick win against the likes of Wales and Russia.
He's done his job in both games. Can't fault him for either result so far.
I still stick with my choice that he should of been left to out till we play someone who's any good and need to tighten up and play on the counter.
We should be playing with two strikers and attacking this shite in the group non stop.Last edited by Kevin Mcleod; 16-06-2016, 05:20 PM.

Rooney is class, simple as that. Rio summed it up on the panel, saying he knows the game and see's things unfold and knows what to do, saying something like you could play him LB and he'd still be good.
He and Walker have shone in both games. Lallana and Dier have also been very impressive and the likes of Ali, Rose, Cahill, have all been solid. Hart has been hart, somewhat erratic and a slight concern and Smalling although has performed solidly enough makes me nervous when he has the ball because he looks so wary and nervous when the balls played to him...certainly not a natural.
Kane and Sterling have been utterly useless in both games and should be dropped. Neither have done anything of relevance for England to suddenly be certain starters and clearly can't handle the occasion.
Have said before Sterling's finishing is woeful as proved again wit that pathetic attempt, and Lallana also is very lacking in that department and often shot shy. With those two as the supporting attacking threat with an anonymous Kane, it's no surprise we haven't been scoring in open play until changes were made. That said, Lallana has played great and deserves his place as an intelligent and clever link player a bit similar to Ozil, just not as good.
Lineups for next game should be this if he wants it relatively unchanged:
.....................Hart
Walker....Cahill....Smalling....Rose
..Rooney.......Dier.......Alli
Lallana......Sturridge.....Vardy
Or possibly this as I think we'd benefit from Wiltshire in the side maybe more than Alli who has done ok, but not great. In these matches space is often so limited and there's nobody better at playing quick interchanging movement in tight congested areas than Wiltshire. I think him and Rooney together in the centre of the park would absolutely boss that area of the pitch. Wiltshire always looks to go forward if there's an option to also.

Walker....Cahill....Smalling....Rose
..Rooney.......Dier.......Wiltshire
