If he had stayed longer at the club and been less injury prone, he might have become a legend.

This exactly, for those of us who remember players who stuck around for a few seasons - even a whole career. Not like that anymore. Good players will always move onwards and upwards now especially if there is an agent involved, agitating for a payday behind the scenes.

He's adored so yes, he is
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

This is exactly why I don't, personally, agree with the whole argument that to be a legend you need to have spent years and years at a club. Obviously that helps to gain a "legend" status, but these days that doesn't happen. If we stick to that "criteria" to be a legend, from now on there will hardly be anymore club legends!
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Really not sure, he is and always will be a true legend to my young boys, weren't our legends like Rodney, Stan and Les when we were only boys?
Now most of us here are grumpy old men, he wouldn't be a legend to us. (Bet a few of us won't ever see as good a goal scorer in a rangers shirt again as well)

Someone needs to put a list of five or ten rangers players classed as legends with games played and goals scored up, then I reckon it would be much easier to decide.

Les scored about 80 in 160 games according to wiki.

Depends on who you ask... He'll be remembered no doubt. Wasn't here for a long time but players don't hang around long at clubs any more..

For me Adel is 100% a modern day QPR legend/. Best player I have seen play for us in the modern era.

Adel, Hill, Faurlin.... - they all divide opinions, but not Charlie who we all loved. This, together with his personality and goals makes him a legend.

Based on some views that a legend needs to hang about we may never ever have another one in the Bush again

this tells me that Rodney was the legendary goalscorer for us.

Cheers Ed, i honestly think chaz deserves to just scrape into that list.

I honestly think Kevin Gallen deserves a mention having played 369 games for us with a decent 90 goals

Yeah I'd put kev as a rangers leg end as well.
