    • The problem Ramsey has is that a) he was in charge when we went down, b) he has no experience as a manager and c) most of us think that the squad is capable of top half and d) patient football fans are bloody rare!

        I don't know what's more laughable:

        - that you can apparently judge a manager/team after one game.

        - that you're a "happy clapper" if you disagree with the crybabies.

I've spent most of the past few years calling out the happy clappers, most of whom seem to be on the opposite side of this debate now. The common thread is a complete inability on that side to analyse things rationally

Top half teams don't have a god-given right to win every away game. That's what's so ridiculous about this tantrum a big chunk of our fans are throwing

          • I don't think it's a tantrum I think it's to do with last season under Ramsey who's NOT a manager and how poor and inept he was and has carried on to his first championship game against a poor charlton side

I agree I don't think he did a particularly great job last time round. But I'd like to give him far more than 90 mins before I start calling for his head this season.

We badly need to adjust our expectations. People banging on about how we need to be pushing for promotion at minimum - these are the exact attitudes (encouraged by TF of course) that have put us £200m in debt with f-all to show for it.

I thought we wanted to properly rebuild the club? Or are we just some sort of awful mini-Chelsea?

It wasn't a dig at you by the way. And I listen to everyone's comments. But I've explained before that I'm not judging on 1 game. I'm judging on the 15 odd he had last year also. Weather it's his team or not. He made shocking tactics and subs. And it's the same thing even after the charlton game. I can see what's coming. I don't need to wait till Xmas to no were a joke side. We're do a Fulham this season with him in charge. Just hope we stay up.

Perpetuating the name calling doesn't really help and amidst all the mud slinging some pertinent points are being missed on both sides. Wanting Ramsey to stay, for whatever reason, does not make you a happy clapper, and similarly, wanting him to leave does not necessarily mean you're a knee-jerk reactionary, throwing your toys out of the pram.

For a start, we've had more than one game to judge him on. We had half of last season. So on that score, we've had a reasonable amount of time to form an opinion. Yes, we have to take into account the fact that he inherited a mess, but nevertheless, his results were poor. Ramsey has also had a pre-season to work things out, and again, much of that shambles was not down to him, ditto the transfer policy, with the last-ditch panic buys alongside the more measured acquisitions making it hard to know who exactly is in control and what exactly the strategy is. I think one answer might be that Ramsey doesn't even really know himself, since Fernandes doesn't really know. With the appointment of Lee Hoos we do know that cost-cutting and sustainability are definitely high on the agenda, but even so, the apparent failure to scout effective replacements for players like Austin, Fer and Phillips, and the subsequent 'will they stay, will they go' debacle doesn't bode particularly well.

Last season and the one game so far of this, Ramsey has made decisions which IMO show a lack of experience which is obviously a concern. For example, why play an almost inevitably leaving Austin and Phillips, the former who was also clearly not match fit? It may be only a half season and one game of this, but it's enough to form some kind of an opinion. And like I said before, Ramsey may well turn things round. That's why he should be given a reasonable run at it, but of course, if it looks like it's not working, then there has to be a point when TF or Les or whoever the hell is in charge says enough is enough. That is neither a happy-clapper or a toys-out opinion.

                  • I find it quite funny how we are judging CR based on losing against Charlton.

Think of the team we got promoted with under Warnock.,. When we beat Derby at the beginning of the season they would have been up in arms.. We lost against QPR? They were almost relegated last season .. Boy we must be bad... And we went on to get promoted... Don't try and judge our side against an opposition most of us can't really judge... Give it a few more games to see where we lie and also Charlton

I'd obviously love a play-off challenge and don't fancy getting relegated, but frankly our club could do with an unexciting season of consolidation.

I think most sane people are adding on his appalling record in the Premiership as well.

Imagine if he had played Polter and left Austin on the bench - fans would be screaming for Ramsey's head. Polter would have been on a hiding to nothing, unless he scored a hat trick.

Scouted & signed replacements for Austin, Fer, Phillips = Polter, Gladwin, Mackie, Chery, Luongo. Not sure what you are after? We're a mid-table championship club with a quarter-billion hole in our accounts. We can't just go out and splash £9m on Andre Grey or Jordan Rhodes or whatever. We all saw the 2013/14 finances. Ramsey clearly wants to play with one up top and a more creative no10 (the Warnock team setup), hence signing Polter and Chery. If there's no direct Austin replacement that's fine, we're shifting style.

Fair enough there are some people who have formed consistent opinions over a lot of games. I spent most of 2013-15 making that same argument about Redknapp (that I thought he had done an awful job for us even in the PL and a few particularly good/bad games for us didn't suddenly change things). But many seem to have been all hyped up for Saturday only for it to come crashing down and they then last out at the manager. Didn't really see many "Ramsey out" posts 90 minutes ago.

I trust all you people then applauded Austin off the pitch? Got to consider his excellent Premiership record too, right.

                              • New policy.. Let's judge our manager game to game... We lose then the manager goes... 22 managers into the season we might all decide one game isn't enough...

Oh yes last season,,, the season we had HR's team... Disharmony.. And no away wins... Yes let's judge him on that,.. What a joke.. Thank god you lot aren't in charge of the club... Sounds a bit Flįvio to me..
