    1) We all wanted to move away from signing players on big contracts based on reputation, in favour of unearthing gems from lower leagues, young and hungry players that want to prove themselves. Obviously proof will be in the pudding when we actually see them play, but Gladwin, Luongo, JET and Blackwood fit that mould. Did well for their previous clubs (Blackwood did well for us on trial), younger players who would be bang up for the fight and not after one last payday. Jamie Mackie we know all about, limited in his ability yes, but will guarantee you 100% effort every time he pulls on that shirt, something which we have sorely lacked since the season we won the Championship.
    2) Scouting. We are actually watching players extensively and signing them based on scout reports. Chery, 10 goals in 35 in his first season for Groningen, 15 goals in 34 in his second season, all from midfield, in the Eredivisie. Polter, 14 goals in 29 for Union Berlin. 27 and 24 years old respectively, both entering their prime, both wanting to prove themselves in England. Both of them unknown quantities but look very promising. Neither of them playing in sh!t unknown foreign leagues as was previously stated.
    3) Selling. We have made it very clear we will sell the likes of Austin and Phillips if the price is right, £15m and £10m respectively, and we have so far stuck to that and not given in to lower offers, something i think the previous regimes would have done. We won't be taken for mugs and that, for me, is fantastic to see. We don't need to sell at all, but if we do get the right offer, we can and I believe we will put that money to good use.

All of these signings are exactly the types of signings everyone wanted. If it was a choice between these or players that won a Champions League medal once upon a time, I'd choose these ones every time. Sure, we may not go straight back up, but I'm confident we won't go down. They've made it very clear the number one priority is to consolidate, not go straight up.
So am I happy so far? Yes, very. We aren't done yet either.
    Totally agree.

We didn't have a choice with Remy. We couldn't put a cut off on it because he had a clause, and couldn't force anyone to sign him sooner either.... What exactly do you think the club could've done???

Besides, don't forget he was due to go to Liverpool earlier in the window but they failed him on medical..... Invested much more wisely paying double for Ballotelli....

I see Blackburn have put a 12m tag on Rhodes, if charlie does go this is the player I really want. We could get him and still have 3m to play with from the sale off charlie,, we could have some side if we manage to keep fer and matty,

We should have signed a big name gaffer on £3m a year and signed proven big name players, I reckon that approach would work a treat.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I think everyone should commend the board for the job they have done this summer so far. It's what's been needed for a few seasons now.
However we should of course reserve judgement partly to see if the players brought in are good enough to do the job. On the same hand, we should also be patient with these new players. i.e. Not have another impatient re-occurrence of Matty Phillips opinions

Mixed bag. Having a director of football might have been one of the reasons we didn't sack Redknapp earlier when it was so obvious he had lost any drive. Pullis was the obvious replacement but he does not like working under a dof. He went to WBA and kept them up. We had a farcical situation (albeit more one of the board's making than Sir Les) where Harry only went at the back end of the transfer window and then the decision seems to have been taken that we were effectively down, so there was no point chucking good money after bad. It suited Les to have a manager he could boss around in Ramsay so Les will be judged very much on the success or failure of "his man".

This transfer window? So far, so promising. Before Poulter and Chery I was worried we would go entirely for bargain basement/ youngsters, whereas you need a mix. Those two seem precisely the kind of players we should sign as well as Luoango (spelling?) who looks to have the natural ability to step up.

But final verdict? Way, way too early (similarly predictions of where we will finish). There are three scenarios: we could, just about, keep Austin, Fer and Philips and then we would be very strong contenders for the title. Or we could sell them and bring in suitable replacements, in particular a prolific and proven goal scorer - in which case it will still look pretty promising for us. Or we could lose those three and perhaps others (Sandro, Caulker) late in the window and either not have time or not have the money ploughed back in to invest properly. In those circumstances the season will most probably be a struggle.

The real test of Les will be if our stars do leave late in the window and what contingency plans he has in place to deal with it. Right now the grumblers and the happy clappies are going purely on guess work as none of us have a clue.

It's way too early to tell, we don't know how the new signings will do or who is yet to leave.

I think all will stay, except the keeper.
With you on this the early signings made by the club we can sit back and say if you want to wait until last knockings feel free but the price stays , sign Fredricks and C/B and watch interested clubs squirm pay up or shut up

As it stands at present, we've got a front four of Chery, Fer, Phillips and Charlie. Looks bloody good to me.

Behind those we've got Faurlin and Sandro.

In defence, Yun, Caulker, Ned. New RB needed.

                                In goal, Green.

There's some good back ups like Henry and the new signings.

If we hang on to the big three or get good replacements, and a relatively injury-free squad, we should do pretty well.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
