So then it should also come in for players blatantly claiming throw ins, corners and goal-kicks as well. If you penalise one offence, you have to do the lot.

This poll is more about blatant, in your face, cheating.......retrospective banning would stop it immediately and it would mean Daniel Sturridge would have to stay on his feet....which would be nice.

Im not so much against people diving for penalties as much as I am somebody feigning injury to get a man sent off when in reality nobody touched him.Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

For those other minor offences, players should be yellow carded.
Secondly, if you brought that in you'd end up with 3-a-side.
Thirdly, there's no difference between what you're saying and a cricketer screaming "howzat" to the umpire.

Some on here may be too young to remember, but before Sky and it's money turned football from the working man's sport to big business in this country, and Klinsmann introduced "diving" to the British game in '94, the FA used to have rules like "ungentlemanly conduct" and "unsportsmanlike behaviour" which always kept issues like this in check.

With the availability of post match TV analysis, the ruling body (FA/FIFA whatever) should actively review blatant cheating, players throwing themselves to the ground, feigning injury etc and then impose a worthwhile punishment. I suggest either the team starts the next game without the cheating player for the first 10 minutes so they're down to 10 men or impose a yellow card that carries into the next game so the player effectively goes straight off for his next yellow card offence.
The managers would soon get fed up with missing players.
I am available to collect my reward for this excellent idea on completion of England's World Cup run....oh wait a minute....2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!
2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....
2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....
2015/2016, average at best.....
2016/2017, same old, same old....
2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!
Its the hope that kills you!
