So you have no doubts about signing a 35 year old CB carrying a long term injury, to complement our other 35 year old CB and our 34 year old CB?

Sorry, but I cannot see the wisdom or logic in this at all. It's a huge risk.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Not us. Fernandes. We can ***** and whine like piggies all we want. Like it or not, Harry has the track record, Hughes just had Kia and dollar signs. They're very different beasts and this is a very different QPR.

Rio on a pay as you play deal, which is what I understand is on the table, no brainer IMO.

What is Harry's track record? I don't see why it's suddenly much better than Hughes' was two years ago, unless of course you've suddenly developed 20/20 hindsight.

Discounting Spurs and City as they're both a fair bit bigger than us, I'd say Hughes' record at Blackburn and Fulham was comfortably as good as Harry's at Portsmouth. Bear in mind HR spent as though he was at Spurs already, then left Pompey bankrupt and falling through the divisions. Hughes left both Fulham and Blackburn as established premier league teams on a smaller budget than we'll have this year.

Ignore this 80k B0llox, it's just a load of ignorant paper talk. It's a lot lower than that figure, and it's not a long-term deal. This is my understanding of the deal on offer.

Still not exactly planning for the future. Just going to cause unnecessary distraction when he moves on..... especially if Hill and Dunne get injured/choose to retire, that'll leave 3 defenders moving on. IMO he's not that good to make such a big fuss about.
            SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

You do realise there's a squad limit of 25 in the prem? We can't afford passengers. No club can.

I still think it's amazing that someone could say we're not the same QPR we used to be (with the same owner and CEO) on a thread dedicated to us signing Rio Ferdinand.

Short of literally buying Cisse back and bringing Park out of retirement I'm not sure what we could do that would be any more perfect an impression of QPR c2012 than this.

Well we don't know the ins and out of the contract that we want to sign him on, do we? It might actually be quite cost effective and that would not make us the same old QPR c2012, would it?

                    • why would Rio want to join us on a deal that was "cost effective" for us?

think about it. why did Hoilett join us when he had much bigger clubs after him? Cesar? Granero? Cisse? Why did Barton leave Newcastle for us? Park? Why did Rob Green leave West Ham?

These players joined us for a reason. We can't go on about being cost effective and getting a great deal and then want to sign big names.

Because Rio is in transfer talks with QPR.
