Originally posted by brightonr View PostWhilst not calling for another manager to get the sack, this thread does in fact raise a serious point.
Last season he was responsible for some rather bizarre team selections and negative tactics, which certainly did nothing to aid the fight against relegation. This season, despite a very promising close season and starting with a squad that were justifiably the big odds on favourites to win the title, we have produced some of the worst football that many can remember for years, despite the fact we are third.
As is often mentioned, he has been managing for 30 years. Some say he is a great man manager. Some say he likes to play attacking football. Some have praised his policy of getting rid of troublesome players and replacing them with the "right sort".
There is abolutely no evidence of any of the above, unless one is prepared to accept that it is better to be able to pick O'Neil, Henry, Jenas, Benayoun, Krancjar etc., than watch Taraabt stroll through another season, being player of the Championship.
His lack of planning regarding the striker situation. His insistence in playing defensively minded football. His tendency to pick certain players, even though to do so means playing them in positions that they are unsuited to. Not good at all. Just how many poor decisions should he and his staff be allowed to make before we should start asking serious questions about him?
It's not as if he hasn't had the backing and support of the board. I seriously doubt that any half decent manager would have us any lower than third, bearing in mind the players he has had at his disposal. Hopefully, he will surely have learnt from his mistakes by now and the second half of the season will be a vast improvement on the first and we go up automatically at least, even if we don't finish top of the pile. But if we don't, then I would be really interested to see how some could defend him from what would be a total failure from the day he arrived.

It's all about perspectives and I appreciate different views and opinions!! Sometimes responses come out wrong due to the passion we have for the club!! But it's hard to see someone write constantly on the moan about the club with out much to back it up!!!

Because every fan will know of the hard time at Rangers, that's a given.. Were not big enough of a club to demand success..
Im worried of the fact, that a lot of rangers fans, seem to think Harry can do no wrong.. Luckily we are 3rd and the league is poor because we haven't played well.
Im still waiting for us to play well and steam-roller someone..
I think he could of done a few things a little better in his transfers and inclusions of Hitchcock etc. when we've been struggling in games.
But yes.. reality is we are 3rd so lets keep going
See this is the problem!! You think just because I defend hr and some of the other posters do too that we don't get frustrated by some if his decisions!!! That's rubbish!! We just have the sense to look at the job he's doing in whole and realise its a ****** good one!!
I honestly believe half the reason we play the way do this year is because how awful we were with the ball last year!! We couldn't keep the ball longer than 10 seconds!! Harry's obviously worked on that massively this year and sometimes now we tend to overplay!!
The lack of another Striker is frustrating!! But bare in mind we have aj and Zamora on the cards who earn 80k a week between them!! It's hard to sanction another striker when your paying that money out already! That's not Harry's problem he didn't sign them but has now been hampered by huges poor decisions!!
We sit 3rd in the league not playing terribly well!! We have the best defence and we need to score more goals!! Harry's said he wants a striker or two and tf has said he'd back him again !!
What's the problem apart from we could be playing a bit better!!

I think brightonr put it brilliantly above - don't feel like I need to say anymore because he summed it up!
One things I just CANT understand, has been the extra striker thing!..
We have an extra striker who will cost us nothing and who gets overlooked time and time again by HR, even when his scoring goals for fun!.. HITCHCOCK.
Why hasn't he given him a chance to play up with Austin... Only HR can answer that one

The last time Harry played Hitchcock was when he was just using him to show Tony that we were down tho the bare bones at the end of the last transfer window. That backfired a little bit when he scored.

Harry is an ok manager and his high profile is good for club and the board at the moment but tactically he is not all that and never has been. We need stability so lets give him at least till the end of the season but i can understand some fans that feel they have had enough of him. Respect other fans opinions mate and they will respect yours.

Fair play mate!! I appreciate you saying it how you see it!! Didn't mean to come across that way!! In all fairness though when for example you and Brighton r write something I do respect your opinions as you put it in a way that's fair!! Bill just seems to be a doom monger and on the wind up for the sake of it, as far as I'm concerned!! Plus I can't be doing with getting offered out by a 60 year old!!
The points you highlighted about hr and the way we been playing are more than valid!! My view as you know is we doing ok!! But your 100 % right everyone is entitled to their own perspective which I should and do respect!!
West London is rrrsss I was out of order for what I said about you though I apologise!! Sometimes get to passionate about the rrrrsss so do apologise!!
