Think people are being too harsh on poor old Bill! HR is not the be all and end all.. I can still see so many people on here backing him, even if we slip out of play-offs!

            People do love him!

Could ask you the same question but because you have been on this board a long time you think you have some
divine right to insult and criticise other peoples opinions maybe your one of Harrys angels god bless.

I cant see us slipping out of the play-offs by the way cos the league is poor. LUCKILY.. But I don't see us getting automatic..
I also think if the WH job comes up, that Harry boy will be twitching that little bit more...

Its not really got anything to do with people loving him though has it. We're halfway through the season and we're 3rd in the league. Given the way we capitulated last season there were genuine fears that we would struggle this season. HR has managed to clear out a lot of the dead wood and build a team that's given us a real fighting chance this season.

The trouble is that there is a group of our fans that demand success and anything less is failure. They forget the years of administration, collection buckets and just struggling to survive and think its our divine right to be successful. Sure we have on paper an expensive, high quality squad but we have to earn the right to be top of the league. HR has another 22 games 66 points to play for so I think the best thing for the club is to make a view at the end of the season and not half way through it.

I take your point but depends what your view of success is.

From a totally personal point of view I would rather stay in the Championship because I can afford a season ticket £200 quid as I am over 60.

On the other hand I would love us to get promoted to the Plastic League for the financial rewards that go with it and would hopefully put
the club I love on a stable footing, the downside being I would not be able to attend games on a regular basis and would certainly not be able to afford
                          a season ticket.

If I were forced to choose I would relish promotion for the security and wellbeing of the club I have loved for over 50 years

Not at all I've only posted a few hundred messages in 5 years!! Just I can't get my head around the rubbish you chat and cant imagine to many true rangers fans having the same view!! seeing the date you joined and the things you say just made me suspicious!!

It's all about perspectives and I appreciate different views and opinions!! Sometimes responses come out wrong due to the passion we have for the club!! But it's hard to see someone write constantly on the moan about the club with out much to back it up!!!

Yep - I know all that about HR and what his done in terms of clearing the mercenaries.. I disagree with we have a group of fans who demand success.
Because every fan will know of the hard time at Rangers, that's a given.. Were not big enough of a club to demand success..

Im worried of the fact, that a lot of rangers fans, seem to think Harry can do no wrong.. Luckily we are 3rd and the league is poor because we haven't played well.
Im still waiting for us to play well and steam-roller someone..
I think he could of done a few things a little better in his transfers and inclusions of Hitchcock etc. when we've been struggling in games.

But yes.. reality is we are 3rd so lets keep going

                              • Whilst not calling for another manager to get the sack, this thread does in fact raise a serious point.

Last season he was responsible for some rather bizarre team selections and negative tactics, which certainly did nothing to aid the fight against relegation. This season, despite a very promising close season and starting with a squad that were justifiably the big odds on favourites to win the title, we have produced some of the worst football that many can remember for years, despite the fact we are third.

As is often mentioned, he has been managing for 30 years. Some say he is a great man manager. Some say he likes to play attacking football. Some have praised his policy of getting rid of troublesome players and replacing them with the "right sort".

There is abolutely no evidence of any of the above, unless one is prepared to accept that it is better to be able to pick O'Neil, Henry, Jenas, Benayoun, Krancjar etc., than watch Taraabt stroll through another season, being player of the Championship.

His lack of planning regarding the striker situation. His insistence in playing defensively minded football. His tendency to pick certain players, even though to do so means playing them in positions that they are unsuited to. Not good at all. Just how many poor decisions should he and his staff be allowed to make before we should start asking serious questions about him?

It's not as if he hasn't had the backing and support of the board. I seriously doubt that any half decent manager would have us any lower than third, bearing in mind the players he has had at his disposal. Hopefully, he will surely have learnt from his mistakes by now and the second half of the season will be a vast improvement on the first and we go up automatically at least, even if we don't finish top of the pile. But if we don't, then I would be really interested to see how some could defend him from what would be a total failure from the day he arrived.
