It's easy to fill a 40k stadium if it's priced right. Please read the post first

For us that would mean around 29k."

Got to be Richard OR is he really Phil Beard posing as Richard trying to shout down anyone who is being sensible about it and voicing genuine concerns for the futureSupporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I do think a fair few fans stay away due to the prices and facilities at the moment. Such an expensive day out for a family when you take into account tickets, travel etc. Also the fact that we haven't had a good top flight side for 20 years. We may have made it back to the promised land but we were still rubbish, playing poor football and full of mercenaries who didnt care about the club.
Lets say harry puts together a nice little team who play attractive football, can compete with anyone in the league, prices come down and new stadium and challenging for europe. I think for alot of games we would be attracting in the early twenties for home fans, allow 6-7k away fans plus the inevitable tourists and corporate and the average gate would be late twenties - early thirties.
The key then is to attract the next generation of fans to this great club. How many kids do you think have started supporting QPR in the last 20 years? I managed to get one of my nephews on board but his brother is chelsea who went for them like the rest of the kids plus ####, spurs etc.
This may all sound optimistic but based on this we could be getting in the early thirties in a couple of years. We all know 40k is too big but our owners are ambitious and will need to put every effort into making the matchday experience as enjoyable as possible plus getting a new generation to support the club. We are getting similar attendances in the championship and the lower prices has alot to do with that. Look at what lower prices have done for attendances in the bundesliga plus the fact we have been in a deep recession the last 5 years. Yes we may have a 3/4 full ground for a number of years but that wouldnt be so bad if done the right way, would just have to make more noise to make up for the empty seats.
Better wait and see how this season goes before the planning application goes in though!Last edited by Jimmy Joe Spud; 17-09-2013, 10:10 AM.
