Usually no, although I might be tempted if Marshy turns out for us one day.

You wouldn't go to the west end, and watch a **** musical and give them a round of applause after spending 100 pound on you and the wife to watch it, plus 30 pound train fares and a 80 pound meal.
At the end of the day it is a form of entertainment by professionals that are being paid a week what most of us earn in 2 years.
Sorry but if I was a player and 1 of my team mates wasn't performing, I'd want the fans to gee him up because as a leader - captain I'd be giving him a hard time. We are talking effort and there really is no excuse for the lack of it, and I have paid 30 quid to watch them so I am allowed to express an opinion.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I don't see the problem with it? "Gentleman's game", "it's not in the spirit of the team" etc.
How many people booed and hissed England players when they played against us last year at LR - but cheer them on when they are wearing an England shirt? i know i did when Walcott, Rooney, Lamps were on the ball against us and then when lining up for england. In England I'll cheer them on (not Terry/Cole)
Not all players shell away when they get booed. Some actually man up and come back playing better (Joey Barton V Liverpool and then the games that followed). sometimes they really need to know their individual performance isn't good enough. I'm at LR to encourage my team/players. If they're not playing well - what, I just sit there and say nothing? No.
We've had players turn out for us and be terrible. They need to be told. If playing against much better opposition I'll support them, but playing teams like MK at home and the performance we put out then was atrocious.
This is part of the problem nowadays - "everyone's a winner" culture. No, everyone isn't a winner. Not everyone needs to be supported with a "oh, but you tried, oh but you did so well, oh but at least you gave it your best". Sometimes, they don't. Some need to be told they are not good enough and I will continue to do so.

cant vote because I wouldn't go as far as of course but would not say never.....
like others have said, it's damaging to morale and performance and the oppo love it.
in extreme circumstances like a player obviously not trying over a period of time to the detriment of the club
the fans should let their feelings be known
