well,if the site is indeed the Old Oak Common site,i don't see how we can turn down an opportunity to be part of it
here is a section on the proposals taken form the H&F website
As well as providing a connection to High Speed 2, the station will be connected to Crossrail and the Great Western Main Line.
This will make Park Royal City one of the nations best connected locations, under 40 minutes from Birmingham, 1¼ hours from Manchester, 2¼ hours from Paris and 10 minutes from Heathrow and the West End.
As a consequence, the station, in attracting both international and domestic passengers, is anticipated to be one of the UK’s top 5 stations in terms of usage.
Figure 2: Park Royal City Connections (pdf)
In recognition of the areas potential for regeneration off the back of the High Speed 2 proposals, the Greater London Authority has designated the area as an Opportunity Area, which identifies the area as having substantial capacity for new homes and jobs.
Hammersmith and Fulham, along with the Greater London Authority, Transport for London, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and London Boroughs of Brent and Ealing have started to produce an Opportunity Area Planning Framework for the area, which will provide planning guidance for the future development of the area.
The Opportunity Areas core development area stretches from North Acton to the west, to Wormwood Scrubs to the south, to Kensal Gasworks to the east and to Willesden Junction to the north.
Early work on this planning framework has shown that with a coordinated approach to the design of Park Royal City International station, the area has the potential to accommodate 19,000 homes and 100,000 jobs, phased over a 30 year period, unlocking over £50 billion of gross value added to the UK economy.
This would make Park Royal City London’s biggest Opportunity Area in terms of its capacity for development and potential regeneration benefits.
The council plans to consult on this emerging framework later in the year, which will be made available to view and comment on this web page.

Broadcasting from BBC TV Centre will make way for regeneration after 53 years of informing and entertaining the Great British public from White City.

"BBC TV Centre, which was nicknamed ‘the dream factory’, will finally close its doors on Easter Sunday (March 31).

"... The BBC sold the 14-acre site for £200million last year and there are now emerging proposals to build a hotel, flats, a cinema and offices on the site. The three main television studios will be refitted and leased out to production companies, including the BBC, from 2014. The site will also be home to the BBC's commercial arm, BBC Worldwide. If planning approval is granted, the redevelopment is set to see the forecourt opened up to the public."

have just realised that this whole development area stretches right up to Hanger Lane and Park Royal (from Old Oak Common),so it could still be the Old Guinness site, next door to Diago

My greatest reservation about a new ground is losing the Loftus Road atmosphere, which is second to none. This is either through empty seats or pilling in a load of neutrals.

Furthermore there is so much competition for fans in our local area that 40,000 will still be very difficult to ever reach, even with cheap seats. Fulham are starting expansion work to 30,000 at the end of this season. Brentford look to set to start competing at our kind of level staggeringly, being much further down the line in terms of ground expansion http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21204935[/URL] to a 15,000 seater. That combined with promotion to the Championship will see them almost on a par with us, except financially. And then there is Chelsea who suck up most kids in our area of London from the three of us.

I can't help but see Fernandes as very deluded, especially given hughes and the course of events over the season that a 40,000 seater stadium is necessary.

Also, at the end of the day, I see empty seats at Loftus Road all the time.

well, all of this is quite a few years away anyway, but its the very reason that those other West London clubs are expanding that we will need to do likewise. We certainly need to get a jump on Chelsea, who are desperate to either expand SB,or,more likely, move to a new site. The advantage we will have will be in terms of transport.Old Oak common will be a transport hub with HS2,Crossrail,Great Western Main Line and local rail, tube, and being near to the A40(M)With the population of London and the South East expected to rise, plus, the large Prem clubs pricing many fans out, this must be viable

This development must have grabbed the Mittals attention as well. If they are in it for the long term, I think that this sort of development is their end game

Surely London and the surrounding areas can support another team as well. You mention Fools and Brentford we can compete with them. The new facilties will attract new fans possibly families, but a run in the prem is what we need .....a stable team in the top flight would be success, and that attracts new fans

I love Twitter sometimes. Hopefully the deal will collapse, not the time to pursue this now. Just spend the little money of our own on carefully rebuilding the team for initial Championship survival.

the money they get will be loans and investments.Banks and investors who are looking for an investment opportunity,ie..a new leisure complex. They will be attracted to the fact that the area concerned will benefit from lots of Government investment(who themselves will be using loans). Its not money we would have to spend on team building

seeing as this is mainly a Government project, that they would be desperate for as much private investment as possible,so you'd hope there would be a few "incentives" for those private investors
