There is going to be a lot of controversy over the next few months over who should be in the England squad for the World Cup. So I am going to record here what I think it should be. For me now my 23 would be:

Gk – Green, James, Hart
Def – Terry, Ferdinand, Johnson, A Cole, Lescott, Dawson, Neville,
Mid – Gerrard, Lampard, J Cole, Beckham, Lennon, Milner, Barry, Jenas
Att – Rooney, Defoe, Cole, Crouch, Bent

I think that could change over the coming months and we are in need of full backs, but I would not go as far as Andy Gray in his Betfair Football column and call for Stephen Warnock to make the squad.
