...Rio Cobolo and Citizenship both ran cracking races to finish 2nd yesterday but the day ended in a loss. We are knocking on the door again however, and I’m sure the next couple of big winners are just around the corner.

Only a maiden win to his name so far but has run some very good races in stronger looking company in this campaign. Two efforts here and two at Epsom suggest he likes undulating/downhill tracks and the jockey who went close on him last time out is retained. Powerful yard have a 20% strike rate at this track in recent seasons producing a healthy l.s.p. They send just the one this afternoon. My Kingdom hasn't raced on ground this soft but he did handle G/S ground when going close in a Nursery over seven furlongs here last season.

May not be open to as much improvement as some of these but he has suggested in his last three races over shorter that he is ready for this step back up in trip. Raced too freely in the first time visor when last seen over this C/D but was staying on over the trip when he returned to turf at Bath in April. Both Trainer and Jockey are always worth a second look at this track and the yard have just the one runner here today.

Hadaf has come a long way to compete in this grade but, at almost twice his odds, Nickel Silver is preferred. He progressed well on the A/W over the Winter but he does since to suggest he can break his duck on turf this season. He has run well in better company in two of his last three races and was less than a length behind Le Toreador in between. He has a chance of reversing those places at today's weights and, with the yard in form, he looks a generous price in this company. Versatile regarding ground conditions he represents a yard with a 21% strike rate from 123 entries here in recent seasons. Even more impressively it has produced a £95 l.s.p.
