Excusez Moi ran a cracking race yesterday to pick up the place money (advised at 20/1) and Secret Society went very close at Ascot, but the day ultimately ended in a loss.

Reject is probably the one to beat dropping back to his winning distance but Rapid Water and Lucky Numbers make some appeal at bigger prices. Rapid Water has only had four outings and is bred to be decent. He beat a Goldolphin hot pot on his reappearance in May but disappointed at Leicester just over two weeks later. Given a month off he looked unlucky at Windsor last time out and a similar break again could see him resume on an upward curve. Lucky Numbers has taken on some stiff opposition this season but he ran well in this grade at Haydock last time out. His best form has been with cut in the ground but he has run well on fast ground on a couple of occasions. On a stiff looking mark but unfashionable stable in good form.

4.25 - Pontefract - Sunrise Safari - 1 pt e/w. Available at 11/1 (General) 1st 13/2 opened 9/1 :boss:

First visit to this track and not totally convinced it will suit. However a fast run six furlongs will and he looks likely to get that today. he was behind Red Cape over seven furlongs at York last time out but, denied racing room late on, he was gaining at the finish and could turn the tables today. Well weighted on the best of his form, handles plenty of give in the ground and represents a red hot Trainer/Jockey combination.

4.35 - Ascot - Record Breaker - 1 pt e/w. Available at 10/1 (Stan James)

Interesting to see Royston French retains faith in Record Breaker and that could be rewarded in this race. Soft ground and two miles was probably against the selection last time out but he had been improving from race to race since the blinkers were fitted this season prior to that. Hasn't run a bad race on five previous occasions on this track and, although now on a career high mark, he is arguably in the form of his life. Stays further than 12 furlongs so a decent gallop will suit.
