The win of Dome Rocket yesterday (advised at 10/1) ensure a small profit on the day.

Today’s bets:

3.55 - Nottingham - Toto Skyllachy - 1 pt win. Available at 8/1 (Ladbrokes)

Hasn't had much racing and not difficult to forgive his latest effort in an ultra competitive big field York handicap. Drops back in grade and his previous effort in G/S ground at Ripon represents solid form. His only win to date was in soft ground so he will handle the conditions here and this looks his best trip. Proven he can get competitive from around today's mark and looks a sporting price at about 8/1.

4.05 - Haydock - Lochan Mor - 2 pts wn. Available at 11/2 (Victor Chandler)

Only three races to date and still showed signs of greeness on his handicap debut last time out when he dead-heated for second behind narrow winner, Devil You Know. Form os that race has been franked by the winner and dead heater since and he has the scope to improve beyond today's two pound higher mark. Went close on his debut on G/S ground and his Sire gets soft ground winners so any further rain may not inconvenience him. Stable 15 from 59 with their turf horses over the past couple of months and they send just the one to a track where they have a profitable 16% strike rate.

5.15 - Haydock - Inside Story - 2 pts win. Available at 5/1 (General)

Three from three over this C/D and has the added bonus of being versatile regarding ground conditions. Didn't get the clearest of runs at Pontefract last time out but that performance and the way he finished at Goodwood in his penultimate race suggests he is still very much in form. Form book contains many more good races than bad and, under today's conditions, he looks likely to run his race again. Early money for the second favourite, French Art, means his price is holding up.

5.30 - Newbury - Bramalea - 3 pts win. Available at 4/1 (Totesport and Stan James)

Disappointing last time out at Bath but may have been feeling the effects of four races in three weeks. There was nothing wrong with her placed performances in her other three outings in that period and it strongly suggests there is a race in her from her current mark. Yet to win on turf but seems just as effective on it as she is on the polytrack. Handles cut in the ground, stays this trip and has the assistance of a good three pound claimer.

5.40 - Newmarket:
PrinceWallywogan - 1 pt win. Available at 11/1 (Sportingbet)
Iceman George - 1 pt win. Available at 14/1 (General)

7.35 - Pontefract - Haajes - 1 pt e/w. Available at 16/1 (Paddy Power)

Often hampers himself by getting outpaced early but has dropped a few hints this season that his mark is beginning to approach his current ability. Handles any ground and this stiff track could bring the trailblazers back to him if he gets the gaps and his draw doesn't prove to be disadvantageous. Now five pounds lower than when winning in soft ground at Folkestone last October. This is competitive but he looks a decent price given his capability of winning in this grade from higher in the handicap.

9.10 - Pontefract - Kyle - 1 pt e/w. Available at 14/1 (General)
