Another good day on Sunday thanks to the wins of Last Flight (advised at 3/1) and Meet The Legend (advised at 8/1). Others that also went close were Ovthenight (3rd), Evereymanforhimself (2nd) and Rio Laine (3rd), so the selections really are still running consistently well.
Todays bets:
Chepstow 3.20
Many of these are open to significant improvement now they step up in trip. Tinkerbelle showed next to nothing in three maiden races over 7/8 furlongs as a Juvenile but she shaped much better stepped up to ten furlongs last time out. Given her breeding that wasn't a massive surprise and today's longer trip is likely to suit even more. There is a strong suspicion that she is better than a lowly mark of 53 and her in form stable have a 29% strike rate with today's jockey this season. Rebel Swing also stepped markedly up in distance for his reappearance at Windsor and didn't run badly in a race which looked as though it were needed. His best effort last season was in heavy ground so he has to prove his effectiveness under today's quicker conditions. However his Dam was very effective on fast ground so the omens are encouraging.
Selection TINKERBELLE. 2 point win @ 15/2 (Sportingbet)
Selection REBEL SWING. 1 point win @ 10/1 (Stan James)
Leicester 3.30
More exposed than some of her opposition but she has the profile of an improving Filly and she is unexposed over today's trip. She wasn't stopping in her first attempt over ten furlongs at Pontefract last time out and that followed two placed efforts which represent solid form at this level. She gets in this handicap at the bottom of the weights and the yard's horses have been in fine fettle in the past couple of weeks. This race is one of quantity rather than quality and it would be a surprise if Location couldn't get very competitive.
Selection LOCATION. 3 point win @ 4/1 (General)
Redcar 3.40
Both Total Impact and Stolt have been out of form but a return to anything like their best wills see them go well against this opposition. Total Impact is back over his best track and he seems to run better between May and July than at any other time of the year. The handicapper hasn't been keen to give him too much respite and he could be right because he went very close (six furlongs) on his only previous visit to this track from just a two pound lower mark. Fitness has to be taken on trust but the yards very good form and the presence of the stable jockey are both positives. Stolt may have needed his reappearance in a much better race at York and, if he did, he could be a difficult horse to peg back in this grade if he gets to the front. he went close, again in better races, on two occasions last June from a two pound higher mark and a return to that form would make his big price look very generous. Flat, fast five furlongs suits.
Selection TOTAL IMPACT. 2 point win @ 9/1 (General)
Selection STOLT. 0.5 points E/W @ 20/1 (General)
Chepstow 4.20
Progressed in three Maiden races last season but a change to front running tactics on her reappearance at Yarmouth clearly wasn't to her liking. In the hope she is ridden more patiently this afternoon she looks very fairly weighted to make her presence felt. Her Maiden form has worked out quite well and the booking of Robert Winston, who does well at this track, for their only horse at the course takes the eye. Bred to be better as a three year old Desert Kiss is open to plenty of improvement for a stable in very good form.
Selection DESERT KISS. 2 point win @ 7/1 (General)
Redcar 4.40
Caught the eye on her reappearance where, despite looking in need of the run and racing wide of the pack, she stuck to her task in a Hamilton handicap which could work out well. She showed a modicum of ability last season and her mark of 66 is one she is capable of exploiting. Stable form this month was a concern but their horses having been showing much better signs in the past couple of days and they have a decent record at this track.
Selection EXCEEDINGLY GOOD. 1 point E/W @ 10/1 (General)
Redcar 5.10
Selection HANSOMIS. 1 point E/W @ 16/1 (General)
