Apologies - have been away for a few days and I am away again for the next 3 weeks spending my ill-gotten gains. If possible I will post tomorrow. Normal service should resume 9th or 10th June. But for now here are .....

Today’s bets:

Nottingham 2.00
Plenty of these are open to improvement but Midnight Fantasy has already proven she is on an upward curve in Maiden races and she is bred to be better than she has so far shown. She ran out a comfortable winner of an ordinary race on her reappearance but the way she travelled and quickened when asked to go about her business marked her down as potentially useful. That was her first attempt on ground faster than good but she has proven herself on soft ground, so rain will not hinder her chances. A mark of 70 looks generous for this handicap debut and the yard have a good reputation when it comes to Fillies.
Selection – MIDNIGHT FANTASY. 3 point win @ 7/2 (Sportingbet)

Musselburgh 3.50
Several in here who like to force the issue so there looks likely to be a truly run race. Hereaux hasn't won for nearly four years but he paid the penalty for winning a Maiden which resulted in him being initially harshly handicapped. he has fought a losing battle with the assessor ever since but there have been signs over the past 12 months that he has fallen to a mark in line with his current ability. He was outpaced over six furlongs on his reappearance but he has improved for his initial outing in the past two seasons and the step back up to seven furlongs will suit. He is now on a career low mark of 63 and both his performances over today's trip at Thirsk last season suggest that is one from which he can get competitive. Summer Dancer has always had more ability than he has shown on the racetrack due to his refusal to settle during his races. However he has also fallen to a tempting mark and there were better signs in his last race where he travelled kinder than he normally does. He has the same jockey on board today and, representing a stable who do well at this track, he has the inherent ability to beat these if he has turned the corner.
Selection – HEREAUX. 2 point win @ 8/1 (General)
Selection – SUMMER DANCER. 2 point win @ 7/1 (General)

Nottingham 5.00
This looks very open and competitive and the draw could throw a spanner into the works. There are plenty in possession of decent looking handicap marks but the one that takes the eye is Quick Off The Mark. She has been given a break since disappointing at Wolverhampton last time out but she has form on the A/W at around this trip to be a force in this race from a career low mark of 58. She was disappointing on both her previous races on turf but the trip on the first occasion and the ground on the second are valid excuses. She is bred to be just as effective on turf and, if she is, she is weighted to go well for her in form stable.
Selection – QUICK OFF THE MARK. 1 point E/W @ 14/1 (Stan James)

Yarmouth 4.10
Selection – CWM RHONDAA. 3 point win @ 5/1 (General)

Leicester 7.40
Selection – CAN CAN STAR. 1 point E/W @ 12/1 (General)
