The place money gained by Samsbro (advised at 16/1) and Encore Belle (advised at 33/1) continued the good form of the selections despite us not finding a winner Monday, yesterday a marginal lss although 2 places with Raslan (8/1) and Buddhist Monk (4/1) helped ease the pain.
Today’s bets:
Cheltenham 2.45
Right handed tracks probably didn't help him on his last two outings and the return anticlockwise could see him in a better light. Comes into the race on the back of a near four month break but his three wins for current connections have been after absences so it should be viewed as an advantage. Unexposed over this sort of trip and is only six pounds worse than when winning easily over three miles at Chepstow in October. Yard still finding winners and the presence of their talented three pound claimer in the saddle is a bonus.
Selection – SEYMAR LAD. 1 point E/W @ 16/1 (General) NR
Beverley 3.10
Probably up against it from this draw but starts this campaign on a fourteen pound lower mark than he did last season and if he shows the same sparkle as he did initially last year than he could get competitive. Ran well from a poor draw over C/D a few seasons ago and produced a lifetimes best on turf on his only subsequent visit last May. Can be a strong finisher so his chances, if he is on song, could well be down to securing a clear passage.
Selection – AEGEAN DANCER. 1 point E/W @ 10/1 (General) 2nd 11/1;D
Cheltenham 3.20
Stablemate of Seymar Lad and ridden by the same jockey. Amore Mio wasn't seen to best effect in the Fred Winter at the Festival where an early mistake saw him soon behind a wall of horses, something he seemed to resent. He may be able to race more prominently here with only Khachaturian an established front runner. The ease in the ground will help his cause and he is totally unexposed over a trip he promises to stay well. Progressive in three Novice races he has done enough to suggest that a mark of 132 is not beyond him.
Selection – AMORE MIO. 1 point E/W @ 14/1 (Coral and William Hill)
Beverley 3.45
Selection – DESTINY’S DREAM. 1 point E/W @ 16/1 (General) 4th 12/1 (16/1 easily available earlier ;D
Beverley 4.20
Has to prove his fitness but progressed well in his Juvenile campaign and always looked the type to make a better three year old. Starts the season on a very feasible mark and has already proven himself at this sort of trip. Likely to get further in time and represents a yard who can get early seasons winners. They don't send many to this track and the booking of a top jockey for their only runner at the venue suggests the selection is ready to go. Yet to conclusively prove himself on fast ground but seemed to handle it well enough at Sandown last July.
Selection – DUBAI CREST. 3 point win @ 7/2 (General) 1st 9/4 - 3/1 available earlier
Cheltenham 4.30
Selection – LONG HOP. 2 point win @ 13/2 (Paddy Power and Ladbrokes)
Selection – LORD SHARK. 0.5 points E/W @ 25/1 (Blue Square and 888 Sport)
