Would be one of the biggest signings ever for a newly promoted prem team. Class player and if we sign players of this calibre during the window a lot of people will be very happy.Estamos QPR

Please please please come true. One of my favourite players since he first played for BarcelonaComment

So because it's in one paper that we have a wage cap of £15k then it's suddenly fact?
You should of learnt by now not to believe everything you read in tabloids about QPR FC.Comment

Not basing it on that alone. Pete has said there will be £5m available for transfers. Warno has said himself it will be on a shoestring. Maybe the Mail are wrong and its, say, a 17k a week cap but it certainly isn't going to be enough to sign a world star with 40 caps for Argentina.
The story fits in with what everyone else is saying. Plus we have our past experience of the club to go on. And as someone who works in the media I probably have a better idea than a few others on here when a story is bull and when it is more likely to have some basis of truth. A lot of detail is normally a sign that a journalist has actually spoken to a proper sauce - and this story has a lot of detail.
Hope this helps.Comment

The fact Pete has said something similar doesn't add anything to the rumour (No offence Pete)
Also, the fact it is a well written article with lots of detail doesn't mean he has spoken to anyone, it just means he has a good imagination of how to create a story, cause panic and sell papers.
He has no quotes from anyone who would be privvy to that kind of info, nor does he write for a respectable tabloid when it comes to football rumours/gossip.
It's just another rumour to add to the ever growing list of rumours. As fans, we won't know what our budget is, and nor should we. It will be kept in house. Away from papers, too.
The same paper ran a story a few days ago saying how we would be signing £90k a week Joe Cole from Liverpool.
Bit tricky that when we have a £15k a week shoestring budget.Comment

Lets wait and see. You seem to be holding out hope we might sign someone on big or biggish money. I dearly hope you are right, not because I'm bothered about "throwing our weight around in the transfer market" but because we would then stand a chance then of getting a fantastic player such as Krancar and a decent strikerUnfortunatly mate, no it doesn't help.

However, I have heard enough to make me very doubtful.Comment
