Why though is expenditure out stripping income, maybe if things were done a little different that wouldn't be the case and maybe also if the board showed some real intent the match day/sales revenue would grow. The fact that neither of these things have happened ( and there have been ample oppertunaties to do so ) means then we will remain a mid table club at best, so what next when the 'project' fails and who will be blamed? Answers on a postcard please:(

I'm quite pleased with the state of the club to be honest decent season ticket sales.
The capture of one of the best midfielders in the division.
Gorman and Madge starting to gel, and a board oif directors that brings financial stability to our football club?
Or diud you prefer it standing on the open terraces at Chesterfield watching us get stuffed 4-2?

If it was that simple anyone would own a football club, fact is it is not as simple as that. In our 18,000 capacity stadium it is never going to fund or attract the top players or even the average prem players.
Many have tried and failed..... I for one are pleased with the progress albeit some days very frustrated but that is more down to me being impatient and wanting everything now.The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

I think you both missed my point. With better forsight we could have bigger gates than we have now, that in itself would generate more income. The oppertunities for that were there, advice to the club was aired and ignored at the time and a gamble made by them that didn't pay off. I hope they are now learning and recent things indicate they are but it could have been so different in the first place. I think even you both would find it hard to argue that the 'c' club ect couldn't have waited and money put to better use?
Also having quality players in key places ( not just midfield!! ) would show more intent, that in turn would see more through the turnstiles and more spent on a match day.
The reason I go is simple, its my club, sh!t or bust. I dont have to kid myself that we are the next Brazil to get me to games, I will follow them where ever they take me. That doen't mean I don't get frustraited and if I feel I am being taken for a mug or fed bull I will say so, I will still turn up week in week out with the same hopes, dreams and asperations but that is what its all about, isn't it?

Scunthorpe Telegraph - Wharton rebuffs claims of bid for Hooper
- IRON chairman Steve Wharton has played down claims Queen's Park Rangers have had a transfer deadline day bid for Gary Hooper rejected.
He admits he had a chat with Rangers' sporting director Gianni Paladini about the striker after the two teams' Championship clash at Glanford Park last Saturday.
But he denies a fee had been mentioned.
"After we played QPR on Saturday, they told us Hooper was a player that they had admired and asked me if he would be for sale," said the United chairman.
"I told them the answer was 'no'.
"If that constitutes a bid for him, then I suppose yes they have made one. But I have had no further conversation with anyone from QPR since then.

The income from the gates has increased as more people are paying top whack.
It's not just about C-Club it's about re developing the entire corparate match day experience which will bring in more revenue than Joe Bloggs and his ticket.
The new areas of the ground are fantastic but despite a a down turn in the economic climate we were able to attract some superb partners in Lotto (20 million) Santander, Chrontech, and a complete over haul of the club shop and merchandise.
Even I was quite impressed with the new brochure I got through yesterday.
Could the club have invested more, possibly and I cant work out why we did not sign a top forward but no doubt Jay Simpson and Ben Watson were good deals and both I hear are views to a permanent signing.
But I will not join some people on this negative assesment of the board of directors reign since the take over.
In every football club people are going to have differing opinions but quite frankly some of our supporters have short memories, we have always been a selling club with a board of directors who ran the club in nothing short of a shambolic fashion.
Chris Wright being a prime example, and Thompason who failed to invest in the side when we had just finished 5th in the PL.
I think we have a fantastic and loyal fan base but some of the rants on the boards yesterday for people insisting we blow 2.5 million on Gary Hooper is quite laughable, we have done some shrewd business in this window and I hope that continues.
